The 1:8 bankruptcy at the first meeting is forgotten: EC Peiting won against EV Lindau on Friday - but was initially behind again.

Peiting

– Ryan Boucher looked a bit surprised while his teammates were already cheering.

He got off the ice pretty quickly and took a deep breath.

Coach Anton Saal patted him on the back, several teammates patted his helmet.

The American had just made it 2-1 for EC Peiting – in his first game for the top division ice hockey club.

"I'm really happy about that," said Sean Morgan, who occasionally commented on the game on SpradeTV because he still has to sit out due to a concussion.

With the important goal, Boucher gave the game a push in the right direction - from Peitinger's point of view.

The ECP ultimately won 5:3 at home against Lindau.

In the first third, however, memories of the first – and so far only – meeting of the teams this season came to mind.

At that time, the ECP suffered a 1:8 defeat.

On Friday, Lindau took the lead again - again it was Florian Lüsch who scored the goal to make it 1-0.

But this time Peiting hit back quickly: Felix Brassard scored to make it 1-1.

As a result, Lindau was twice in the majority for two minutes due to penalties for Peitinger players, but was unable to use it.

Strong second third of the Peitinger

Boucher's big moment came shortly after the break.

The American, brought on for the time Sam Payeur was sidelined through injury, got the puck - and put it into the net to make it 2-1.

Just 23 seconds later, Louis Postel made it 3-1 for Peiting.

Brassard and Lukas Gohlke increased the result to 5:1 with their goals before the second break.

Lindau shortened the lead at the beginning of the last third thanks to Simon Klatte, but then weakened himself. Eric Bergen unnecessarily grabbed Peiting's Marco Niewollik in the face from behind and had to be in the penalty box for four minutes to cool down.

Shortly thereafter, Skylar Pacheco joined them for two minutes due to a game delay.

But Peiting could not use the majority.

That took revenge when Lindau shortened the lead to 3:5 through Arturs Sevcenko – and unnecessary tension arose again.

But the guests couldn't beat ECP goalie Florian Hechenrieder again - the victory was perfect.

Ryan Boucher's debut with it as well.
