Aroni Nes Ziona among the top?
The Oranges surprised many with their great start to the season, and today (Friday) in the ninth round proved that they completely belong to the top of the table with 87:96 over Hapoel Jerusalem after two overtimes.
The game marked the retirement of Tal Dan's jersey, which he retired last summer, and the current version of Nes Ziona definitely paid homage to the club's greatest symbol.
Hapoel Jerusalem, on the other hand, saw a streak of eight victories in all formats stopped, despite the great ability of Kadin Carrington and a monstrous double-double from Zach Hankins.
After the exciting ceremony in honor of the former captain, the top battle began with a lot of emotions and the players of both teams even got into a confrontation in the second quarter.
Carrington led Jerusalem to the lead at the break, but Shaq Buchanan's tremendous ability, especially in the third quarter, left the host in the picture.
In the last quarter, the advantage shifted from side to side at every moment, and the drama reached its peak in the last seconds.
The guest lost the ball carelessly in the closing seconds, Jerome Mainsey took control of an offensive rebound after the foul, drew a foul from Speedy Smith and went to the line in the last second trailing by a point.
The orange center scored only the first shot and the teams went to the first overtime.
DJ Cooper, who was one rebound away from a triple double, could have decided the first overtime, but missed and the extra five minutes ended at 4:4 - going to the second overtime.

Hankins was hot on the other hand with 18 points and 17 rebounds, Carrington's 27 points were not enough.

Quarter 1:
The host got off to a great start and triples by Shaq Buchanan and DJ Cooper put her up 4:8.
Zach Hankins converted, but two spectacular God-hops from the Orange gave the home side the advantage.
Two baskets by Kadin Carrington, including a 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer, made it
20:20 at the end of the quarter.

3rd quarter:
Buchanan scored eight consecutive points for the Oranges, including two baskets and a foul, and shrunk to 48:47.
Smith and Cornelius scored 3-pointers that opened a gap, Hankins finished in the paint and raised the guest to 54:61.
Buchanan got into trouble on the last attack, but hit a crazy 3-pointer at the buzzer that stopped the Jerusalem momentum.

Quarter 4:
CJ Williams opened the last quarter with an orange three-pointer, a great basket by Carrington made it 62:67 red.
A 3-pointer by Bey and two baskets by Jerome Mainsy tied the score at 69:69 and Aleksandar Džikić called a timeout.
Hankins broke the tie, and after two minutes full of misses, Carrington made it 69:73.
Gut made a three-pointer, Buchanan's basket was reversed, but Smith made it 74:75 red with 38 seconds left.
Buchanan missed from close range, Mainsy squeezed a foul after an offensive rebound and became orange 75:76.
Jerusalem did not man up, and Carrington's basket on penetration made it 76:77 with 14 seconds left.
Buchanan missed a three-pointer, but Jerusalem's careless ball loss on Smith's pass to Cornelius gave Nes Ziona another chance with less than five seconds remaining.
Bye missed, Mancey took the rebound and drew a foul from Smith on the way to the penalty line.
Mainsy took only the first shot,
and both teams went into overtime at 77:77.

Carrington scored a huge 3-pointer at the beginning of overtime, Cooper reduced it to 80:79 and reached a double-double.
Cooper equalized two minutes to the end, but also missed the buzzer and both teams
went to a second overtime tied 81:81.

Blazer scored Jerusalem's first points in the second overtime but it was too late.
