SC Riessersee celebrates its third win in six days.

Despite injury, Moritz Israel scored twice in the 6-2 home win over the EHF Passau Black Hawks.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen –

Moritz Israel turns, drives to the gang and disappears directly into the cabin.

The 26-year-old had just given SC Riessersee the lead against the EHF Passau Black Hawks.

He just didn't want to - or rather couldn't - celebrate his third goal of the season.

But Israel was to find out later, to his delight, that the saying “cancelled is not postponed” also applies to ice hockey.

Bloody cut at the goal scorer of 1:0

Just a little over five minutes had passed on Friday evening in SCR's 6-2 victory, the third in six days, at the Olympic Ice Sports Center when Marlon Wolf's shot, which was deflected, fell in front of Israel's skates.

The striker reacted with lightning speed, completed to make it 1-0 and was hit in the face in the process.

The result: a bloody cut on the scorer's face.

Black Hawks shorten when outnumbered

The second Garmisch goal came in the 14th minute without injury.

This time it was Christopher Chyzowski who pushed the disc over the line in the fray in front of guest goalie Luca Mayer after Sebastian Cimmerman's shot from the post.

But as good and effective as the white-blues were in attack, they were just as vulnerable in their own third: unclean, unfocused, not up to par, at times unimaginative in the build-up.

The connection of the Black Hawks then resulted from a majority situation of the sports club.

Elias Rott had only been in the penalty box for 34 seconds when Kevin Slezak played an unclean pass, Simon Mayr lost the duel on the rink, so Jakub Cizek after a one-two with Zachary Dybowski with the already sixth shorthander from Passau (league best) in could shorten this season (18th).

Passau dominates the second third

A wake-up call for the SCR so shortly before the first third break - one might think, but that was not the case.

Instead, the "ice hockey friends" from the three-river city dominated in the second half, only the equalizer didn't want to fall, luckily for Riessersee.

The best opportunity was missed by Carter Popoff, who failed to hit the target properly in front of a brilliant Daniel Allavena.

In the last third, the SCR came back on the field as if changed, to the delight of the 753 spectators.

And so it was Moritz Israel of all people who set the course for victory in the 43rd minute with his second goal of the evening, this time with due jubilation and without blood loss.

SCR in goal mood in the final section

Coach Pat Cortina's team was in a good goal mood.

First, Lubor Dibelka rounded the Passau goal and smashed the puck into the net from an acute angle over the inside post to make it 4:1 (48 th ). Eight minutes later, outnumbered, he tied his brace to the final score.

In the meantime, Tobias Kircher (52nd) scored the fifth SCR goal, Yuma Grimm was able to shorten the lead to 2:5 for the Black Hawks a pointer later.

By the final whistle at the latest, Israel's pain was forgotten.

The man of the evening was loudly celebrated by the SCR fans after the game.
