The Washington Wizards suffered their fifth straight loss and eighth in the last nine games tonight (between Friday and Saturday), when they lost 121:111 to the Indiana Pacers in the absence of the injured Bradley Beal.
Danny Avdia showed good ability and finished with 14 points along with 9 rebounds, but the one who was selected three places after him in the 2020 draft, Tyrese Halliburton, recorded a double-double and together with Buddy Hild led the host to the second victory in three meetings this season with the team from the capital of the United States.
In shooting from afar, Avdia again struggled, finishing with 1/5 from beyond the arc, but the forward, who played 40 minutes and again stayed on the floor longer than any other player in Washington, contributed 5/6 in shots for two and in addition provided 4 assists, along with one steal and three turnovers.

The lead changed hands 14 times in the first half, which ended with Indiana leading by four after Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points and didn't miss a shot.
However, in the second half the guarding of the Latvian improved, the Wizards fell further and further behind as the end approached, and an 18 three-point shooting evening for the Pacers helped them open a double-digit gap in the last quarter.
Porzingis finished with 29 and 9 rebounds, Kyle Kuzma added 27, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Jordan Goodwin scored 19 points for Wes Anseld Jr.'s team.
Hild led the winner's scorers with 28, Halliburton recorded 23 and gave 11 assists and Benedict Mathurin scored 18.
