Dorothea Wierer is fighting for the top spots again in the Biathlon World Cup.
In addition to the cross-country ski run, a very special fan was a guest this time.
Hochfilzen - The biathlon competitions will take place in Hochfilzen, Austria, at the beginning of December 2022.
Lo and behold: for German athletes with a great result.
Denise Herrmann-Wick - a double name that the fans still have to get used to - triumphed in the sprint over 7.5 kilometers.
With a good performance, competitor Dorothea Wierer came in seventh, 37 hundredths behind.
The winter sportswoman even had a special fan as a guest.
Famous biathlon sister: Magdalena Wierer cheers on superstar Dorothea
The South Tyrolean Wierer has several sisters, one of whom came especially to cheer on the best runner in the family.
Magdalena Wierer, now 21 years old, ended her career prematurely in 2021.
The constant comparisons with her successful sister put a lot of pressure on the up-and-coming athlete, who once wanted to follow in Wierer's footsteps.
“I was very often compared to Dorothea, it wasn't easy, especially at the beginning of secondary school.
I was always watched and looked at very closely, so I had to deal with that first," she told Portal

last year.
Merkur.de also reported on this.
But she still likes to go to the cross-country ski run for her sister, she is not to blame for the comparisons.
During the sprint in Hochfilzen on December 8th, Dorothea filmed her climbing and wrote: “Machineee”.
Afterwards, of course, there was a picture of Dorothea, the 32-year-old, with her younger sister.
There are also photos of all three sisters.
Biathlon star Wierer has two sisters: the similarity cannot be denied
There is also a third Wierer in the family: Caroline.
The resemblance cannot be denied here either.
The three call themselves “best friends for life”.
Maybe they can also celebrate the successes of the "Machinee" together when she makes it onto the podium at the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof in early February 2023.
