The US journalist Grant Wahl collapsed on Friday evening while reporting the World Cup from the football stadium in Qatar and died shortly thereafter.

A little later, according to consistent media reports, another reporter died.

Photojournalist Khalid al-Misslam from Qatari news channel Al Kass TV died on Saturday of reasons that are still unknown.

The Qatari newspaper Gulf Times sent its condolences to Al-Misslam's family and wrote: "Al-Misslam, a Qatari man, died suddenly while covering the Qatar 2022 World Cup. We believe in Allah's mercy and forgiveness on him and express our deepest condolences to his family.«

The news of Al-Misslam's death comes shortly after the tragic death of Grant Wahl, who collapsed in the media gallery during extra time on Friday night's game between the Netherlands and Argentina.

The 48-year-old was treated in the stands and in the ambulance, but without success.

So far, no official statement has been made on the death of Khalid al-Misslam.

According to local media reports, the cause of death is still unclear.

Al-Misslam's employer Al Kass TV commented on the incident only very briefly in a live broadcast, according to n-tv.
