After the narrow victory in the State Cup, the team estimates that some of the injured will return to the squad by next Saturday.

Maccabi Haifa is back from a whole month off, but the team's list of injured and sick is long.

Also yesterday (Monday), in the victory over Hapoel Nof HaGalil (0:1) in the eighth round of the State Cup, 11 players were missing, just as it was in the Toto Cup against Bnei Sakhnin.

In Haifa, it is estimated that Charon Sherry, Shawn Goldberg and Ben Shahar, who are ill, will return to the squad by the time they face Bnei Sakhnin on Monday.

Regarding the injured Neta Lavi and Dolev Haziza, the medical team's assessment is that they will need another week of reinforcements and will only return against Maccabi Netanya.

"It's not an easy situation, but we'll have to deal with it," said the club, "it's not a normal thing that so many players are missing and more after a break. Within two weeks, the majority will return."

Regarding last night's cup game, Haifa made it clear that "it was important to do the job and move up a level", even if that meant immediately having a three-stop lineup with San Menachem as the third stop alongside Rami Gershon and Efri Arad.

Regarding the goalkeeper Josh Cohen, there is a debate whether to take him out for surgery on his shoulder.

In such a situation, he will be absent for an extended period and another goalkeeper will arrive in January.

The possibilities are not many as the need is for an Israeli goalkeeper.

Nikita Khaikin has become a free goalkeeper after completing a contract with Norwegian side Budo Glimt, but he is attracting interest from bigger clubs in Europe such as Everton and in the Spanish first division.

Ofir Marciano from Feyenoord is the second option and the return of Sherif Kiuf from the loan at Hapoel Afula is also on the agenda.

In any case, until further notice, Roy Mishpeti is the first goalkeeper of the Greens and much regarding the future plans depends on his ability, which so far there is satisfaction with it.
