The French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanen, announced a special alert in the ranks of the French police ahead of the semi-final match in the World Cup, in which the French national team will compete against the Moroccan national team tomorrow.
Darmanen announced at the National Assembly in Paris that 10,000 policemen would be stationed all over France to prevent violations of public order.
Half of all police officers will be stationed around the capital, mainly in the vicinity of the Champs-Elysées avenue, where there were violent riots and clashes between rioters and police forces after Morocco's victory over Portugal.
