Everything seemed to be going the way we had expected: Gibensbach's Christoph Pfahler beat Dorfen's goalkeeper Simon von Fraunberg in the second minute to make it 1-0.

In the end, however, the ESC cheered.

The puck hunters of ESV giving Bach had not imagined it that way.

Dorfen/Gebensbach – For the 1b of ESC Dorfen, on the other hand, the derby went well: The ice pirates celebrated their first win of the season with a 7:4 (4:2, 2:2, 1:0) – and they deserved it, because they just acted more purposeful and smarter.

The experienced guard made sure of that, because in addition to coach Tobi Brenninger, the former ESC Bayernliga cracks Ernst Findeis and Alexander Voglhuber were also there.

"We also had the necessary luck in a district league game at a very good level," admitted Brenninger.

By that he meant, on the one hand, the initial phase, "when almost every shot was a hit", and the beginning of the last third.

"The ESV had the opportunity to score a number of times, and who knows how it would have gone again."

“I begrudge Dorfen the victory.

They were super effective, played cleverly, and now I hope that they will also beat our competitors," was the summary of ESV trainer Heinz Zerres.

Already after 16 minutes - at a score of 2:4 - he had sent Sebastian Pfeuffer, who had just recovered, into the goal for Manuel Hammerlindl.

"Almost every shot was a hit, one from the center line, so I had to intervene," said Zerres.

To blame the unfortunate Hammerlindl for the defeat would be too easy.

After Christoph Pfahler's early 1-0 lead, those in front probably believed they would run for themselves and were 47 seconds behind due to two lightning strikes by Findeis and Quirin Brugger.

After that, the derby took on a momentum of its own.

Dorfen was always two goals ahead and always had an answer ready for the first hits in the game.

The Zerres protégés did not find the means to overcome the very safe Simon von Fraunberg in the ESC goal more often.
