The best league in the world announced that starting this season the title of the best player will be named after the legend.

A great honor:

The NBA announced this morning (Tuesday) that from now on the title of MVP in the best league in the world will be named after Michael Jordan, who is considered the greatest player in the league of all time.

A legendary namesake for the pinnacle of basketball performance.

The new Michael Jordan Trophy for the NBA #KiaMVP features a player breaking out of a rock as the patina of the trophy grows more burnished - "raw to refined" - signifying the MVP's hard work achieving the honor.

During his career, Jordan won the title of MVP of the league five times, won six championships, was selected as the MVP of the finals six times, appeared in the All-Star game 14 times, won the title of MVP of the All-Star Game three times, won the title of the outstanding scorer ten times , won the title of Defensive Player of the Season, Rookie of the Season and entered the Hall of Fame.

The league's decision sends a clear message, and in fact establishes Jordan's status as the best player to ever play in it.

The trophy itself will have a new design, and its dimensions will be 23.6 inches and 23.6 pounds - as a tribute to Jordan's jersey number - 23, and the number of championships he won 6.
