Taekwondo player Ahmed Saleh aspires to represent the Syrian national team in foreign competitions, to compete with the champions of the game, and to be crowned with the gold he was on a date with in the Republic Championship recently.
In a statement to SANA, the 20-year-old player, Saleh, said: I started practicing Taekwondo at the age of eleven under the supervision of coach Jamal Jalda and got attached to it. With the passage of time, I moved to a new stage of training aimed at entering the world of competition and championships. skill level and won the bronze in the Republic Championship last year.
Saleh added: Winning the gold medal this year was the goal that I was seeking to achieve. I did not stop training since the beginning of the year until I achieved what I aspired to. Competition on the external level is a goal and a goal in parallel with preserving the title of the Republic Championship.
Saleh continued: I currently hold a brown belt and am preparing to conduct a course with a black belt and one Dan, with my endeavor to enter the field of training and arbitration later, and I will spare no effort to achieve my dream in this sport, pointing out that Taekwondo is a sport concerned with self-defense and consists of several skillful movements, and combines a number of Combat sports at the same time, so it is widely practiced by the younger generation of power sports enthusiasts.
Taekwondo, approved in Syria since 2009, has witnessed a good turnout for its practice, especially after the expansion of its local championships in recent years, as the Martial Arts Federation worked to revitalize it in order to expand its base further in the governorates.
