: The Ukrainian parliament last night (Tuesday) imposed sanctions on 55 Russian athletes and one Ukrainian following their support for Russia's invasion of the country.
Among the list of athletes there are some prominent names, including four artistic gymnasts: the twin sisters Dina and Arina Avrina, Daria Dmitrieva and Alina Kavieva, who was previously claimed to be the girlfriend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and at the beginning of the month she was photographed wearing a pin with the Z symbol - supporting the war.

In addition, the figure skater Kamila Valiyeva, the Russian Olympic Committee team that won gold in figure skating during the Winter Olympics in Beijing this year, the swimmer Yevgeny Rilov, the apparatus gymnast Ivan Kolyak, who was suspended for a year from the sport, after he stood on the podium at the World Cup in Doha wearing the Z symbol .
Seven of the athletes on the list - appeared on stage at a pro-war rally organized by Russian President Putin at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow in March.
The list also includes one Ukrainian, football coach Anatoly Tymoshchuk, assistant coach at the Russian football club Zenit St. Petersburg.
The former captain of the Ukrainian national team, he is the country's all-time leading scorer with 144 goals.
In early 2022, the Ukrainian Football Association stripped him of his coaching license and the titles he won because he refused to speak out against the ongoing Russian invasion and remained an assistant coach at Zenit.
The sanctions will last for about ten years and include blocking assets in the territory of Ukraine, limiting trade operations, banning entry and removing all titles and medals awarded to them by the state.
