A group of experts from the Bundesliga should help the DFB with a view to the EM 2024.

A bad composition for TV expert Almuth Schult.

Frankfurt – The 2022 World Cup is entering the home stretch, but Germany has been a spectator for a long time.

The DFB-Elf was eliminated again in the preliminary round.

A task force has now even been set up for the upcoming European Championships at home in 2024 to get the German national team back on track.

Almuth Schult does not like the composition of the working group, as reported by tz.de.

Almuth Schult

Born: February 9, 1991 (age 31), Dannenberg (Elbe)

Current teams: Angel City FC (fixed farewell), German women's national football team

German champion (6), German cup winner (8), Champions League winner, Olympic champion, European champion, world goalkeeper

DFB forms a group of experts: Neuendorf, Watzke, Rummenigge, Völler, Kahn, Sammer and Mintzlaff

For classification: Under the direction of DFB President Bernd Neuendorf (61) and DFB Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke (63), the group of experts is made up of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (67), Rudi Völler (62), Oliver Kahn (53), Matthias Sammer (55) and Oliver Mintzlaff (47).

The committee is to advise on the future of the DFB selection and the future occupation of the post of former managing director Oliver Bierhoff.

"We could still inflate this body, but I believe that this circle is well established," said Neuendorf on MagentaTV: "I'm ready for any conversation with people who think they can seriously get involved."

Diversity as a topic of discussion: exclusively men in the DFB expert group

After the semi-final between Argentina and Croatia, Schult criticized the composition of the live broadcast on ARD.

Why?

No diversity!

"I don't know what to think of it," Schult introduced her statement.

"The DFB has always talked about diversity in recent years and especially in the run-up to this World Cup, about a change that has to take place, that you have to position yourself in a modern way.

And now, when there is a crisis, you throw it all overboard!”

The expert continued to shoot against Rummenigge, Kahn and Co.: "Suddenly you have the people who have always been in football, who have steered fortunes in recent years - they are back there.

Diversity is completely set aside.

The DFB President himself says that you need experience from men's football and that you also have acceptance for everyone who is then in men's football.

That's a point I just can't understand."

In the ARD: DFB President Neuendorf defends himself against allegations

Before the World Cup semi-finals, Neuendorf had once again defended himself against criticism of the composition of the new panel of experts without the participation of women.

"It was not our first criterion to ensure variety and diversity here, we do that elsewhere in the association," said Neuendorf on Tuesday evening on ARD.

He referred to a diverse composition of committees in the association.

"Here it's just that we need people who have a lot of experience, who have played in the men's national team, who have worked for the DFB, who have a wealth of experience in professional business, who have a number of contacts ' Neuendorf said of the future expert group.

Bernd Neuendorf invites Tabea Kemme to an interview

Criticism of the composition of the body arose on social media on Tuesday, especially because it consists only of men.

Former national player Tabea Kemme also criticized a one-sided occupation and lack of diversity.

Neuendorf invited the expert from MagentaTV to an interview.

"I'm happy to accept that," Kemme said.

Schult saw other reasons in the composition.

For them there is a “tactic behind it”.

After all, Rummenigge, Sammer, Kahn, Völler and Mintzlaff are definitely people who don't shy away from criticism.

If things then go in the wrong direction again for Germany at the European Championships, Schult is certain that "nothing negative will be heard from these gentlemen because they were involved".

"Madness", "nonsense": Schult calls for more diversity at the DFB live on ARD and is torn apart by fans

For her demands for more diversity in the DFB expert panel, Schult was literally torn apart by many fans on Twitter immediately after her statements.

A selection of comments:

  • You hire 5 of what are probably the best managers/directors that German football has had in years to save the DFB and then people aren't okay with diversity?

Okay, I'm male and I might not be able to empathize with this, but isn't that crazy?

  • Diversity is not a quality criterion!

There is also no reason to believe that there must always be more diversity.

  • Diversity more important than competence.

Don't you think that the whole thing is slowly being exaggerated?

  • 3 weeks after "Binding Gate" Almut Schult opens the barrel of "diversity" again.

    It's totally gaga.

  • We're not talking about diversity, we're talking about sporting success.

Bitching about the age of the task force and its gender is bullshit.

  • Out of sheer diversity and gender fuss, there are two women at the sports show who would be better off with the Greens than with reporting on the 2022 World Cup. Such incompetent, naive nonsense, unbelievable.

Sami Khedira: "These are not just any heinis who come here"

In addition to Schult, there were two male experts in the ARD studio, Thomas Hitzlsperger and Sami Khedira.

Hitzlsperger joked: "Aunt Käthe is there." That means Rudi Völler.

A short time later, however, he became serious again: “This World Cup caused a lot of damage.

Everyone wants Germany to be successful at the European Championships.”

Khedira took up the topic of diversity again - and turned the matter around: "The people who are sitting there now: They are not just any heinis who come from there.

You don't necessarily have to go into this position.

But of course, the topic of diversity: Can you take up the age structure differently, can a woman do it?

This is an issue that needs to be questioned.

But we mustn't see everything black and talk bad about everything."
