Danny Avdia scored 9 points, dished out 5 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes of play, all while stars Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Roy Hachimura continue to be absent due to injuries.
The Wizards couldn't stop Denver star Nikola Jokic, who had one of his best games this season and scored 43 points, along with 14 rebounds and 8 assists.
Nashawn Hyland added 23 points for the Nuggets, and Aaron Gordon scored 22.
On the losing side, Kyle Kuzma continued to be the leader in the absence of the prominent players, scoring 24 points, with Will Barton in a good game off the bench scoring 22 points and playing the most minutes.
Washington continues to sink, with a negative balance of 18:11, while Denver is strong at the top of the West with 10:17 and is in third place after Memphis and New Orleans.
