The Black Bears Freising want to sully the clean sheet of EV Aich in the district league derby.

Important: Manuel Hanisch is guarding the goal again.

District

– It will be exciting: The two district league teams from the district of Freising will meet in a direct duel on Saturday.

At 5:15 p.m., table leader EV Aich awaits the third SE Freising for the top game in the Clariant Arena.

In the table, the two ice hockey teams are currently only separated by one point, although the Domstadt team have already played four more games.

The hosts from the Moosburg suburb are still the only team without losing a point.

They want to stay that way for as long as possible - and especially when it comes to local rivals from the district.

In the first leg at the end of October in the Weihenstephan Arena, EVA was 3-0 ahead thanks to an extremely effective performance.

It was particularly noticeable at the time that the first two goals were scored by Sebastian Lachner and Jannis Gabler when they were outnumbered.

In addition to the win against the relegated state league from Freising, the Aicher Eishackler only had opponents from the second half of the table in the first games of the season.

"It doesn't matter which opponent, you can't underestimate anyone in this league," EVA trainer Georg Herrmann preaches to his team, who have always taken this to heart.

EV Aich benefits from mistakes made by the competition

However, the knowledge seems to be new for the other competitors for the playoff places: Last weekend, ESV giving Bach suffered a 4:7 defeat at ESC Dorfen 1b.

EV Königsbrunn lost the derby in Augsburg 2:6 – and the Black Bears also suffered a 3:4 defeat after a penalty shoot-out at bottom Pfaffenhofen 1b.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The Freisingers had to do without coach Nils Hanfstingl, sports director Gregor Tomasik and above all without their first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Hanisch.

With Johannes Sedlmeier, a good representative was at the start.

However: "If Manu is in the back, we play differently," said captain Dmitri Kurnosow.

"With our young team, it's a mental thing.

If the goalkeeper and the coach aren't there, the players worry and aren't really focused.” The result in Pfaffenhofen was a 0:3 deficit, so the Bears had to be happy at the end, at least one more having saved a point.

SEF Captain Kurnosow: "We know which people we have to watch out for."

On Saturday, the SEF puck hunters want to show a different face.

Manuel Hanisch will be back in the box and will help those in front to defeat the best goalkeeper in the league.

With his saves, EVA keeper Johannes Pfafferott ensures that EV Aich concedes less than 1.5 goals per game on average.

The Black Bears can only dream of that with more than three goals conceded per game.

Nevertheless, SEF captain Kurnosow believes there is a chance: “We know which people we have to watch out for.

If we can take them out of the game, then we'll be on an equal footing." According to coach Georg Herrmann, EV Aich only wants one thing: "We're looking forward to the game.

And everyone will do their part to keep us clean.”
