The EA Schongau expects leader Miesbach and meets bottom Pfaffenhofen in the catch-up game.

However, the “mammoths” are plagued by injuries.

Schongau – EA Schongau has been largely spared from bad luck with injuries in the Bayernliga season so far.

In the past few weeks, however, the "mammoths" had to accept some unpleasant reports.

In the home win against Kempten, two top performers were hit: Samy Paré suffered a ligament injury after an unpunished knee check.

"That hurts us a lot, Samy was currently in a good mood as a goalscorer and preparer," EAS interim coach Helmut Maucher regrets that his second-best scorer (24 points) has to pause for at least six weeks.

Veteran Fritz Weinfurtner injured his shoulder against Kempten.

"That's why he'll take a break for the time being, maybe he'll even have to stop playing ice hockey altogether," explains Maucher.

Personnel concerns at EA Schongau

In addition, Jonas Lautenbacher and Jonas Schwarzfischer are not quite fit.

Your assignment on Friday (8 p.m.), in the home game against TEV Miesbach, will therefore only be decided at short notice.

The game against the league leaders "will be a very difficult task," says Maucher.

The TEV also recently had personnel worries, which weakened the team a bit away from home.

Defeats in Erding, Pegnitz and Dorfen allowed the pursuers to get a little closer to the TEV.

"We're going into the game confident and committed and want to take something with us," Maucher sees his squad as outsiders, but not without a chance.

"We just can't afford to make too many mistakes, and Miesbach punishes them mercilessly."

On Sunday (5 p.m.) the “Mammuts” can look forward to the greatest possible contrast when the bottom team, EC Pfaffenhofen, comes to the Lech to catch up.

The ECP has already been to Schongau this season, but the game had to be canceled a few weeks ago shortly before the first face-off because the new Schongau ice-making machine (“Zamboni”) refused to work.

"A win against Pfaffenhofen is actually a must," says Maucher.

Whereby the Schongauer with the role of favorites are still a bit strange.

"Against supposedly easier opponents, we have often put obstacles in our own way this season," Maucher recalls of many close games against teams from the bottom of the table.

The standings of his squad mean that the interim coach is relatively relaxed in the last ten games of the main round.

"We're fourth, so we don't have a lot of pressure." The EAS still needs a few wins to make it into the championship round.

"It would be best if two of them came along this weekend," says Maucher.
