The fast pool in Melbourne, Australia, provided us this morning (Friday) with three new world records, in the World Championship in short pools (25 meters).
The day opened with a record in the 4x50 meter mixed medley final (women's and men's), by the French foursome including Maxime Grosse, Florent Menaud, Barry Gastaldello and Melanie Hannick, who stopped the clock after 1:27.33 minutes and broke the previous record of the USA From 2018 in 56 hundredths.
The United States regained the lead in the record table in the 4x200-meter freestyle final, clocking 6:44.12 minutes and smashing Brazil's previous world record from the championships four years ago by 2.69 seconds.
The third record was set by the Olympic champion Margaret McNeil, in the 50 meter backstroke, with 25.25 seconds, an improvement of two hundredths on the previous record.

Israel national team swimmer Miron Haruti jumped into the 50 meter freestyle and was the closest to qualifying for the next stage.
The Israeli swimmer won his heat in the qualifiers with a time of 21.33 seconds and finished in 18th place overall, just 4 hundredths from qualifying for the semi-finals.
Later, following the deletion of the American Michael Andrew, and Haruti's tie with two other swimmers for the same result, the Israeli jumped again at the end of the performance to another 50 head-to-head (Swim-Off), for the right to be the substitute in the semi-finals.
In the extra race, Haruti set a time of 21.45 seconds with the Dutch Kenzo Simmons winning with 21.28 seconds.
With this, the 25-year-old Haruti finished his part in the World Championship and now heads to the Israeli Short Pool Championship which will be held next week at the Wingate Institute.
His teammate from Israel, Yaakov Tomarkin, has one more swim left before the end of the competition, 200 backstroke, which he will swim on the last day of the competitions, on the night between Saturday and Sunday.
