A stressful time begins for EC Peiting with the Oberliga game in Memmingen.

There are ten games within 24 days.

SC Riessersee comes to the derby on Sunday.

Peiting – There can be no question of "staader time" at EC Peiting in the next few weeks.

Until January 8th, from today's Friday that's 24 days, ten games await coach Anton Saal's men in the Oberliga Süd.

"Especially in December it's a tight program against consistently top-class opponents.

We have to muddle through somehow,” says Saal, who is also hoping for a decent haul of points.

The ECP will have to deal with two strong competitors this weekend.

On Friday (8 p.m.) Pfaffenwinkler will be guests at ECDC Memmingen, on Sunday (6 p.m.) SC Riessersee will come to the derby.

"Memmingen is a very good team on paper, but they haven't made it onto the ice yet," says Saal about the Allgäu team, who have so far fallen short of expectations in ninth place.

EC Peiting: Derby on Sunday against SC Riessersee

Coach Björn Lidstrom had to leave at the end of October when he was second in the main round last season.

Long-time player Daniel Huhn stepped in for the Swede.

Since taking office, the Memmingers have won six out of eleven games.

"It's noticeable that they win more on Fridays than on Sundays," says Saal, who lost 2-3 with his team at the ECDC.

The Peitingen team then won the second leg 6:4.

"Memmingen is now in a better position again," says Saal about the pursuers, who now have players who have been injured for a long time, such as Sergei Topol and Maxim Mastic, available again.

The squad of SC Riessersee, who comes to Peiting for the derby on Sunday, is also pretty complete.

The Werdenfelsers, against whom the previous record is balanced with a win (4:2) and a defeat (1:4), are currently only missing Aziz Ehliz from Peiting and Canadian Ryker Killins.

"The SCR will come with four rows," suspects Saal.

After he has all the DNL players, who will play their last game before a long international break on Saturday, available and Marco Niewollik comes from Augsburg, the ECP coach can also muster four offensive lines.

"Then the wear and tear is not so high and we still have power in the end."

The use of young striker Niklas Greil, whose back pinches, is questionable.

Meanwhile, Sam Payeur's substitute Ryan Boucher, who fitted in well with a goal in his debut appearance against Lindau, has sorted out some professional matters and now has three weeks to fully concentrate on playing hockey.

"We hope that Sam Payeur and Markus Czogallik will return in mid-January," says Saal, referring to the long-term injuries.

After all: The two defenders Sean Morgan and Alex Winkler are back at the weekend.

Next Tuesday, in the home game against EV Füssen (7.30 p.m.), Winkler has to pass again due to work.

Marc Besl could possibly make his comeback against his old club.

"He will go on the ice at the weekend, but not play yet," said Saal about his striker.

The ECP only played against Füssen once and won 3:2.

As in the past few weeks, there will be a rotation in goal for the Peitingers.

How exactly it will look like is still open.

It is certain that Konrad Fiedler will play in Memmingen.
