Some Bayern players are still at the World Cup.

Shortly after the turn of the year, the preparations for the second half of the season began for the Munich team.

And again it goes to Qatar.

Munich – The World Cup in Qatar runs until Sunday, December 18th.

In three of the four remaining teams there are professionals from FC Bayern, Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman and Benjamin Pavard are in the final with France, Croatia's Josip Stanisic and Morocco's Noussair Mazraoui are playing for third place.

After the last World Cup weekend, a long year is also coming to an end for the five players, and vacation is coming up for them too.

Shortly after the New Year, however, it continues again.

FC Bayern: World Cup driver on vacation - training starts in early January

During the World Cup, a small training group gathered at Säbener Straße, which trained from the end of November to December 9 under the direction of head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Ryan Gravenberch, Marcel Sabitzer, Mathys Tel, Paul Wanner and keeper Johannes Schenk – i.e. those players who did not take part in the Qatar tournament – returned to the training ground after a holiday break.

After that, those who stayed at home had the next phase of recovery, and the entire team did not gather again until shortly after the turn of the year.

On January 3, Nagelsmann, who is currently in the United States, invites his team to the training ground to prepare for the second half of the season.

Shortly after the World Cup: FC Bayern pros go to a training camp in Qatar

On January 6th, three days after the start of training, the next trip to Qatar is already on the agenda for most Bayern pros.

The Munich team will hold their planned training camp in the World Cup host country until January 12. The trip could be of great importance, especially in view of the ending sponsorship contract with the Qatari state company Qatar Airways.

The Bayern pros can do what they do best the day after they arrive from Qatar: play.

On January 13, the record champions will welcome Austrian Champions League participants Red Bull Salzburg to the FC Bayern Campus for a high-class test match.

FCB are currently leading the Bundesliga table after 16 matchdays with four points ahead of SC Freiburg, while Leipzig is in third place, six points behind the top.

Should Munich win against their direct competitor from Saxony, this would already be an exclamation mark in the fight for the championship.
