LE SCAN SPORT – The British media Ruck has unveiled the list of the five highest paid players in 2022. Three of them play in France.

Every year, Ruck magazine publishes its ranking of the highest paid rugby players in the world.

A hierarchy regularly contested by the clubs, in particular from the Top 14, which refute the method of calculation of the British media.

This year again, he risks making people cough in France since three players playing in France, two in Toulon and one at Racing 92, are part of the Top 5.

If the international back of the Bristol Bears, the ex-All Black Charles Piutau (31), still occupies first place, with a salary of 1.16 million euros per year.

We find just behind the Scottish opening half of Racing 92, Finn Russell, and the South African winger of Rugby Club Toulonnais Cheslin Kolbe, with salaries approaching one million euros per season.

Dan Biggar makes his appearance at the foot of the podium

Both gain a place, taking advantage of the transfer of the former South African opener from Montpellier Handré Pollard to the Leicester Tigers.

For a salary visibly revised downwards.

At the foot of the podium, appears the new Welsh opener of the RCT, Dan Biggar.

Arrived from the Northampton Saints in October, he would receive around 930,000 euros.

Or a salary equal to that of the second-line star of the XV of the Rose and Saracens, Maro Itoje.

The ranking of the five highest paid rugby players in the world:

1: Charles Piutau (Bristol): 1.16 million euros

2: Finn Russell (Racing 92) and Cheslin Kolbe (Toulon): 990,000 euros

4: Dan Biggar (Toulon) and Maro Itoje (Saracens): €930,000
