Lionel Messi wants to continue - at least a few more games.
"I would like to experience a few more games as world champion," said the Argentine after the 4-2 penalty shootout in the World Cup final against France on TyC Sports.
Lusail - “I love football, what I do.
I enjoy being in the national team.” During the finals in Qatar, six-time world footballer Messi announced that he would at least no longer play the upcoming 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
National coach Lionel Scaloni would absolutely welcome the continuation of his superstar's career.
"If he wants to continue, he will be with us," said the 44-year-old world champion coach after the 4-2 penalty shoot-out against France in Sunday's World Cup final.
"It's up to him.
It is such a great pleasure to coach him and his teammates.
Everything he passes on is surreal, I've never seen anyone give so much." dpa
