Sebastian Vettel forgets the text of his poem in a laudation for Eintracht Frankfurt.
The former Formula 1 driver is celebrated by the audience for the dropouts.
Baden-Baden – Sebastian Vettel ended his Formula 1 career a few weeks ago.
The four-time F1 world champion used the newly won free time to appear at the “Sportsman of the Year” gala on Sunday in Baden-Baden.
Vettel apparently also has a penchant for poetry and recited a poem he had written in honor of his favorite club Eintracht Frankfurt – but the former motorsport driver was not entirely sure of the lyrics, which caused great amusement among the guests in the ballroom.

"Sportsman of the Year" election: Vettel gives a laudation for Eintracht Frankfurt and recites a poem
Sebastian Vettel came onto the stage in fine thread and golden curls, where he was warmly welcomed by Frankfurt President Peter Fischer.
Eintracht was named Team of the Year for their Europa League title.
Vettel started straight away with his eulogy, which he wanted to read freely without reading.
After a few verses, however, the Heppenheimer faltered.
"Sorry," said Vettel with an embarrassed smile and started again after encouraging applause from the audience.
But somehow the 35-year-old had completely lost the thread.

"Now I'm hanging again": Vettel forgets the text several times in front of an audience of millions
"Now I'm stuck again, that's not possible," Vettel quarreled with his botched presentation.
"Now I have to take a quick look, I'm sorry," said the Eintracht fan and, to thunderous applause, pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, on which the text was saved.
"You can cut it.
Normally I talk a lot and I'm not nervous, but it's a special moment.” Almost two million viewers watched on ZDF.
When Vettel made the next attempt to continue his poem, he had the next blackout.
"The mobile phone is in there," moderator Katrin Müller-Hohenstein referred to the "cheat sheet".
"The cell phone is in my pocket," Vettel recalled, embarrassed.
"You've got a lot planned for that.
But I find that very courageous and very remarkable,” moderator Rudi Cerne praised the former racing driver and wanted to help him.
“Should I hold the cell phone?” Vettel, however, firmly refused and still finished his poem.

Vettel's stumbled poem is celebrated by the audience
"The whole laudatory speech was based on Eintracht songs.
That said, he made an effort and didn't just come here to have a beer and say something.
It's really, really great cinema," said Eintracht President Peter Fischer, who accepted the award for the Bundesliga club, about Vettel's dedication.
The Twitter community was also over the moon.
