First win of the season!

At Höchstadter EC, ice hockey club EHC Klostersee prevailed after a strong performance with 2:1 goals after extra time.

Grafing – The Grafingers met fifth in the table absolutely at eye level and ultimately took home two deserved points.

With an intensive 60 minutes against the Tölzer Löwen (4:6) and without a complete line of attacks from the main formation - captain Raphael Kaefer (injured), Fabian Zick, Vili Vesalainen (both ill) - the red and white went into the middle Franconian Small town on the ice.

Against a rested but thinned-out HEC team that had to sit out the previous day because opponents EV Füssen were unable to provide a playable team due to illness.

However, the EHClers did not just start passively-defensively, with the basic focus on narrow spaces already in the neutral zone.

With this tactic, Klostersee did not allow Höchstadt to take a dangerous shot on target for almost seven minutes.

When the Alligators drew a first penalty time, they even narrowly missed the lead.

Defender Yannick Kischer flicked the puck right in front of the opponent's goal, but Florian Gaschke and Vitus Gleixner couldn't find the gap in the slot (8').

They survived two manpower games unscathed before Kischer was put down from behind on the way to the HEC goal.

Captain Philipp Quinlan had already sent Alligators goalie Benjamin Dirksen into the wrong corner, but then lost control of the hard rubber disc (12').

Only in the final phase of the first period did Höchstadt establish himself on the offensive.

Dominik Gräubig in the Grafinger box picked away all opposing shots.

In the second section, the first minutes belonged again to the EHC, who narrowly failed several times.

A phase followed in which you came under real pressure and could only clear things up several times by so-called icing.

After these illegal long-range shots, Klostersee always had time to catch his breath before the following face-off in the defensive zone.

Chances from Jordy Stallard and Gleixner ended another goalless third (35'/36').

It remained an open exchange of blows, although the hosts recorded more game shares.

The EHC remained extremely dangerous, Philipp Quinlan brought his team 1:0 ahead (44th).

Outnumbered, the Alligators equalized (50th).

That secured a point in regular time, but captain Philipp Quinlan provided the extra point again in the third minute of extra time.
