VfB Hallbergmoos: Cup success at the end of the year – bowlers reach the quarter-finals of the DKBC Cup

The VfB Hallbergmoos bowlers end the year with a win.

With a 6-2 win over SV Wernburg, they made it into the quarter-finals of the DKBC Cup.

Hallbergmoos – It was the last game for the Bundesliga bowlers of VfB Hallbergmoos this year.

In the round of 16 of the DKBC Cup they received the Bundesliga team SV Wernburg and won with 6:2 points in 15:9 sets and 3690:3544 wood.

SV Wernburg last visited VfB for the Bundesliga game on November 19, when the Thuringians lost 8-0.

VfB Hallbergmoos is behind after the first round

This time the Wernburgers arrived a little late and had to compensate for the absence of the two Zeh brothers.

Lukas Funk and Dietmar Brosi were absent from Hallbergmoos.

In welcoming the two teams, team captain Damir Cekovic emphasized that the DKBC Cup would write its own laws.

This was already evident in the first game between Mario Nüsslein from Hallbergmoos and Manuel Hopfe from SVW.

The former won the game and confidently took the team point for VfB with 4:0 sets at 645:580 wood.

Patrick Krieger's game against Paul Sommer was extremely competitive.

Krieger was only able to pocket the second team counter for Hallbergmoos by a hair's breadth.

At 2:2 sets it was a single cone more at 621:620 wood that brought the decision in favor of VfB.

Tobias Kramer didn't stand a chance against the very strong Daniel Barth.

The Wernburger won with the daily best of 676 wood, Kramer got their 609 and gave up all four sets.

The Wernburgers were surprisingly one wood ahead after the first round with 1876:1875 and 3:2 points.

VfB Hallbergmoos: Dirnberger and Cekovic turn things around

But then the tide turned: Mathias Dirnberger scored the team point against Raven Michel with 4:0 sets and 622:548 wood, and Damir Cekovic was also successful against Kevin Möller.

He cleared his team counter with 621:526 wood and 4:0 sets.

Bogdan Tudorie, on the other hand, had to give up his team point to Oliver Herrfurth at 1:3 sets.

With 572:594 wood he lost to Wernburg.

After the game, team captain Damir Cekovic was satisfied with the result and was happy about entering the next round of the DKBC Cup.

While Rot-Weiss Zerbst, SKC Unterharmersbach and TSV Breitengüßbach have already reached the round of eight with VfB, the four remaining round of 16 games will take place on January 28th.

The quarterfinals will be held on April 29th and 30th.

Hallbergmoos at SKK Raindorf, who are still unbeaten in third place at home.
