Two days after the derby against SC Riessersee, EC Peiting won another duel with their neighbors.

Coach Anton Saal, however, rated some things critically.

Peiting – EC Peiting continues to collect points in the Oberliga in the fight for a direct place in the play-offs: the home game against EV Füssen on Tuesday evening was won by coach Anton Saal’s team, despite being 2-0 down, with 5: 3.

After the success on Sunday against SC Riessersee, it was the second derby win in a row for the ECP.

"The team finds ways to win games," said Coach Saal.

However, he only partially liked how the game had gone.

The first two thirds "go to us, but we miss a lot of chances," said Saal.

In the final section, the ECP scored four goals, "but Füssen was actually the better team there".

Saal saw it pragmatically: "You have to draw games like this, we take the points with us."

EC Peiting wins against Füssen after falling behind

The EC Peiting was there right away and got stuck several times in the Füssen defense zone.

Unlike in the two previous games, the team did not have to concede an early goal.

The referees consistently punished actions with the stick, so there were several penalties in the first third.

The people from Peiting showed their qualities in penalty-killing, surviving 15 seconds with a double deficit (17th) - because David Miller and Andreas Feuerecker blocked two good shots.

The ECP was quite dangerous when they were outnumbered, so Thomas Heger and Felix Brassard both hit the goal posts in quick succession (13').

ECP goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder thwarted the guests' best chance with a strong save against Carl Zimmermann (11').

Controversial goal for Peitinger 3:2

In the middle third, Peiting's Sean Morgan released a dangerous shot, practically in return, Füssen's Jörg Noack came free-standing on the post and scored the puck to make it 1-0 (22nd).

The guests used a countermove to make it 2-0 (26th) – Ondrej Zelenka, who initiated the action, scored.

A Peitinger power play (27th) then remained unused.

In the next majority, however, the home side struck: Shortly before the end of the penalty time, Marco Niewollik deflected a shot from Fabian Weyrich to make it 1: 2 (33rd).

After that, the ECP had to accept a penalty (35th), but solved the task, also thanks to a great save from Hechenrieder.

In the final third it only took 30 seconds – with Peitinger outnumbered – for the 2:2 equaliser.

Felix Brassard converted a cross pass from Thomas Heger.

A little later, the Canadian scored his 29th goal of the season, which caused incomprehension on the Füssen side: EVF keeper Benedikt Hötzinger threw himself on the puck, the scene seemed over Niewollik hooked, the disc was suddenly exposed - and Brassard scored to 3:2 ( 46.).

It then went back and forth: Julian Straub scored for EVF on the power play to make it 3:3 (48th).

An attack from the third Peitinger line ensured the lead again: Ryan Boucher scored 4:3 (54 th ).

Füssen did not give up and was unlucky when he hit the crossbar (56th).

Peiting had chances to counterattack: Tim Mühlegger, David Diebolder and Brassard each narrowly missed.

Thomas Heger made everything clear with an empty net goal (59th).

In the end, debutant Moritz Zöller still had a chance.
