Before the Christmas Eve presents, the EC Peiting still has a long away trip ahead of it.
It is unclear who will be there at all.
Nevertheless, coach Saal is confident.
Peiting
– Starting a small series of successes – that's what Anton Saal wanted a few weeks ago.
This wish of the Peitingen coach came true before Christmas.
The 5:3 in the home game against EV Füssen last Tuesday was the Pfaffenwinkler's third win in a row.
EC Peiting (26 games/43 points) has thus consolidated its sixth place in the Oberliga Süd and at the same time has delicate contact with the two teams ahead of it, SC Riessersee (24 games/45 points) and Höchstadter EC (23 games/47 points). ) produced.
Peiting narrowly lost the first duel - the decisive goal was scored by an ex-Peitinger
With the latter team, the “Alligators” from Middle Franconia (8 p.m.), the people from Peiting will be guests this Friday (December 23).
“A very unpleasant opponent.
They play differently than all the other teams and are so difficult to calculate,” says ECP coach Anton Saal about the HEC, who is very successful with this style of play.
Fourth in the table, the team from Höchstadt is one of the positive surprises this season.
"They don't have an outstanding scorer, but a lot of good players who can score all the goals," Saal has great respect for the "Alligators", who score points week after week.
Behind Jari Neugebauer (31 points), former Peitinger Eetu-Ville Arkiomaa (29 points) is the second-best scorer at the HEC.
With his goal 28 seconds before the end, the Finn also decided the only duel between the two teams this season,
After a short phase of weakness, Höchstadt is now on the up again
Even a three-week ban from coach Mikhail Nemirovsky, which was originally supposed to last until the end of the year but was then shortened to December 16, didn't let the Höchstadt team slow down.
Only through numerous failures did some sand get into the gears.
As a result, the trailing tail light Klostersee also managed their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory at the HEC after extra time last week.
In the meantime, however, some battered players have returned to the "Alligators", which was then immediately reflected in points.
Last Tuesday, the Mittelfranken defeated SC Riessersee 4:2 and thus passed the Werdenfelser in the table again.
More than half a dozen players are in danger of dropping out at Peiting
Meanwhile, the people from Peiting are threatened with a few failures before the only appearance on the Christmas weekend.
Tobias Beck, Tim Rohrbach, Sean Morgan and Andreas Feuerecker are suffering from colds.
Their use is just as questionable as that of Lukas Gohlke, who has muscular problems.
Certainly not there are Marc Besl (concussion), Dennis Krutsch (ill) and Niklas Greil (back problems) as well as the long-term injured.
At least Alex Winkler, who was prevented from working against Füssen, is available again.
Youngster Moritz Zöller could come to his next assignment
Maybe youngster Moritz Zöller will play again after his short debut against Füssen.
“Moritz has been training with us once a week for some time now.
He's a very intelligent player, but he still needs to improve physically," says Saal of the 17-year-old striker, who he believes has a lot of potential.
"Even if we are not complete, we currently have a small run and a lot of confidence.
That's why we want to take something with us from Höchstadt," says Saal confidently, despite the personnel worries.
