The special appearance of judo talent Bohdan Borovets

Several young judoka from TSV Weilheim drew attention to themselves with good performances at the tournament in Münsing.

One received a very special award.

Weilheim – TSV Weilheim took part in the Münsinger Halloween tournament with twelve junior judoka – and it was very successful.

"Both athletes and coaches can be proud of the performances shown," the club wrote in a statement.

"The competition gives hope for a successful future for the judoka of TSV Weilheim."

The younger and less experienced athletes competed in the so-called "Randori Tournament" in Münsing.

Young judokas are slowly introduced to competitive situations by fighting as many fights as possible with different partners and different tasks.

Good performances by TSV Weilheim in Münsing

"There is no referee and a winner is not determined," said the TSV.

Rayan Benseghir, Florian Bihler, Tobias Lärm, Raphael Pantke, Petar Saric as well as Daria, Timo and Konstantin Stephan were there for the club in Münsing.

The seven to eleven-year-olds showed one or the other ippon worth seeing (highest rating).

"The basis for later successful participation in competitions could be laid."

At noon the "pool tournament" started for the older and more experienced judoka.

It is “everyone against everyone” in each weight class.

Whoever has the most points is the winner.

Eleven-year-old brothers Joscha and Marlin Veith took third place in their weight class.

The TSV athletes, in two hard-fought groups, fought exciting duels that ended with both victories and one defeat.

"In the end, the little bit of luck or the cleverness was missing in one or the other situation to get even higher on the podium," says TSV.

Gold medal for Raphael Stephan

Team colleague Raphael Stephan (12) was able to narrowly but deservedly secure the gold medal in his weight class.

"His victory is mainly due to his fighting performance and his strong defensive behavior," said TSV.

"During the entire course of the competition, he didn't allow a single score to be scored against him, but in return he was able to score enough points himself."

Technician Award for Bohdan Borovets

Bohdan Borovets also presented himself as outstanding in his weight class.

As soon as he stepped onto the tatami, the twelve-year-old signaled to his opponents his ambitions for the competition.

"Confident in building up the fight, he didn't give any of his opponents a chance and ended every fight prematurely with Ippon."

His outstanding performance on that day was also honored with the "Technician Prize", which was only awarded once among all judoka and honored those who showed the best technique on this day of the tournament.

"With Bohdan, the club has a young talent who will certainly be heard more about at competitions," said TSV.

"But he is also a partner in training with whom all other judoka can further improve their own judo."
