The bowlers in the “Zugspitze” district had a great time: Various individual championships were on the agenda.

Last but not least, the athletes from the Schongau area were successful.

District – Not with their teams, but individually, the sports bowlers from the district were especially challenged.

The individual championships in the "Zugspitze" district were about medals and qualifying for the district title fights.

The skittles from the Schongau area were very successful.

Andreas Seiband twice with best performance of the day

Seniors A:

The district chairman himself was the measure of all things for seniors A (50 to 59 years).

The Schongauer Andreas Seiband had the competition clearly under control both in the preliminary (played in Weilheim) and in the final (in Seeshaupt).

In the lead-up, the Bayernliga player from Schwarz-Gelb Schongau shone with 592 wood and put 42 wood between himself and the closest pursuer, Stefan Schwinghammer (Frischauf Weilheim).

In the final, Seiband again achieved the best performance of the day (521) and thus completed the title with 1113 wood.

The Schongauer was outstanding in clearing (a total of 385 wood/only five misses).

In the fight for silver, Schwinghammer and Michael Heinfling senior (SKC Krün) fought an exciting duel that the freshman won by four wood (1060:1056).

Manfred Fried succeeds in catching up with seniors B

Seniors B:

From eighth to first place – Manfred Fried (black and yellow Schongau) put in a spectacular comeback in the final in Seeshaupt.

With the daily best value of 562 wood (184 in clearing), he overtook all other competitors in the overall ranking.

In the end, Fried (1074) had a good lead over the second, Reinhold Berchtold (1051) from Schwarz-Blau Burggen, who was third after the heat.

Bronze went to Erich Liebl (1037) from Frischauf Weilheim.

The leader after the heat, Werner Strass (black-yellow Schongau), ultimately had to settle for sixth place overall.

After an impressive 539 wood in the preliminary heat, he only got 477 wood in the final.

Seniors C:

On his home track, Michael Eigner took the decisive step towards winning the title.

The SKC Huglfing player scored 570 wood (191 in clearing) in the run-up and clearly distanced his opponents.

In the final in Weilheim, the fifth best result of the day (511 wood) was enough for the owners to stay ahead of the overall standings.

The advantage over the second, Hermann Kölbl (1052) from Frischauf Weilheim, was a whopping 29 wood.

Bronze went to Zivko Labor (1047) from SKV Penzberg, who with 530 wood passed Willi Kramer (Frischauf Weilheim/1043), second in the heats in the final.

Senior women A:

Only two bowlers competed in the district preliminary decision.

Sonja Heinfling (935) from SKC Krün made the race in the fight for gold.

Angelika Schmidt (914) from TSV Peißenberg was too far behind in the run-up.

In the final she was only able to make up a few woods.

Seniors B:

They are club mates, but gave nothing in the fight for gold.

Angelika Wagner and Inge Dietrich (both Frischauf Weilheim) fought a hard-fought duel.

In the end, Wagner (1000 wood) was just ahead of Dietrich (994).

Both players scored 515 wood once, each as the daily best;

Wagner in the preliminary, Dietrich in the final.

In the final, played in Weilheim, Wagner was able to just about defend her lead from the heat with 485 wood.

Bronze went to Elisabeth Reindl (883) from SKC Huglfing.

Seniors C:

Traudel Kral was absolutely balanced.

This gave the sports bowler from SKV Penzberg a sovereign victory in the players over 70 years.

With 914 wood (455 in the preliminary heat/459 in the final), Kral, who finished tenth in the senior championship in 2011, was well ahead of fellow club member Adelheid Ostermair (873).

Hannelore Sprösser (772) from SKC Huglfing took bronze in the field of four starters.

Sprint men:

It was a déjà vu for Robert Leonhart: Like last year, the sports bowler from Schwarz-Blau Burggen was presented with the silver medal at the end of the sprint competition (2 x 20 throws combined).

However, if Leonhart had to admit defeat in the 2021 final with 0:2 sets, the last knockout duel this year was much more exciting.

The final against Markus Großkopf (Frischauf Weilheim) was "absolutely top class", as district sports director Alois Kriesmair emphasized.

Grosskopf won the first set (96:92), Leonhart won the second set (99:91).

So it went into the “Sudden Victory”;

after three throws, both players were level.

After three more throws, Großkopf was in the lead with 39:35.

In the bronze medal game, Hubert Resch (Gut Holz Eberfing) defeated Max Dreisser (Frischauf Weilheim) with 2-0 sets (211:164 wood).

Last year's winner Thomas Feuchtinger (black and yellow Schongau) was surprisingly over in the round of 16: he lost to Andreas Welsch (TSV Peißenberg) in a "Sudden Victory" (18:20).

Welsch then had to admit defeat against Leonhart, also in extra time (16:22).

In the knockout round, seven men's duels were decided in a "sudden victory".

Sprint women:

Petra Heinfling won bronze last year, this time the sports bowler from FC Seeshaupt was at the top of the podium.

With a 2:0 (173:119 wood) against Sonja Heinfling (SKC Krün) she won the district title.

The women's semi-finals were particularly exciting, both of which were decided in a "sudden victory".

First Sonja Heinfling won against Angelika Wagner (Frischauf Weilheim) with 19:16.

In the other semi-final Petra Heinfling won in a Seeshaupt-internal duel against Petra Kräh (20:16).

Kräh was not discouraged by the narrow defeat - on the contrary: In the bronze match, she shone with a total of 194 wood (best value of the day) and defeated Wagner 2-0 sets.
