Taking the initiative: after expressing quite a bit of criticism of the conduct of Emiliano Martins, in France they decided to take action.

Last night (Thursday), the French association submitted an official complaint to its Argentinian counterpart against the goalkeeper.

The chairman, Noel Le Grat, contacted Claudio Tapia and sent him a letter in which he regretted the goalkeeper's behavior.

"I wrote a letter to my colleague from Argentina against the goalkeeper," Le Grat wrote, "I think this is unusual and improper behavior in terms of sports and it is difficult to understand. He went too far against Mbappe, whose behavior on the other hand is exemplary and he did not react."

The tension between the two existed even before the World Cup because of an innocent statement by the Frenchman who said that "the teams from Europe come more prepared to the World Cup because the level in the leagues in Europe is higher".

The goalkeeper was not oblivious and responded that "Mbappe does not know enough because he has never played in South America".

Now it remains to be seen how and whether Argentina will handle the goalkeeper, but it is likely that there will be no intervention on their part and the complaint is just for the record.

But it doesn't end there.

In France, it is further reported that Emilie Castre, France's Minister of Sports, may also contact the Argentine counterpart to complain about the "vulgar and provocative" behavior of the Argentina fans towards Mbappe at the World Cup winning celebrations held in Buenos Aires.

Beyond Martins' taunts, which only heated up the atmosphere, in France they claim that a group of fans held a coffin decorated with a cross and a picture of Mbappe.

"It's a bit pitiful behavior," she said.

"I will talk about it with Argentina's sports minister."

By the way, the embassy has not yet responded to the accusations regarding the striker.
