First reunion after imprisonment: Boris Becker visits his mother shortly before Christmas

Boris Becker enjoys his freedom.

After his release from prison, the tennis legend visited his mother in Leimen with his girlfriend Lilian.

Leimen – Boris Becker has been a free man again since the middle of last week.

After his release from the British prison Huntercombe, he was immediately deported to Germany. A few days later he spoke openly about his experiences in the prison in a television interview.

On Wednesday, the former tennis star was able to hug his mother almost eight months after entering prison, as reported by tz.de.

It was three days before Christmas Eve.

Boris Becker was allowed to see his mother Elvira again, and together with his friend Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro he paid a visit to the 87-year-old.

The

first reported on the meeting and published corresponding photos.

Elvira Pisch, as her full name is, still lives in Becker's native town of Leimen, about seven kilometers south of Heidelberg.

As the tabloid reports, she is said to have only just heard about her son's visit, so the joy was great.

Becker and his partner stayed for about an hour.

Boris Becker: Mother Elvira apparently meets girlfriend Lilian

reports, the emotional meeting was also the first time that Elvira and her son's girlfriend met.

Lilian is said to have made a good impression, especially because of her knowledge of German.

The 33-year-old always stood by Becker during the prison sentence and was always at his side when he appeared on Sat.1 on Tuesday.

Elvira should have liked that too.

During the interview, in which the 55-year-old described himself as a "family man", it became clear how important his mother is to him.

In an interview with moderator Steven Gätjen, he told the anecdote about his first phone call with his mother from prison.

"I wasn't allowed to make international calls, I could only make calls in England.

My poor partner then had to calm down and update my mother, my sister and my ex-wives and children,” recalls Becker.

It took me three months to get a phone card, but a few days after he entered prison at the end of April, a priest gave him a unique opportunity.

"A clergyman summoned me to his office and I spontaneously asked him: I would like to speak to my mother."

And indeed: Becker's wish was fulfilled.

"On the day that Mother's Day was in Germany

, I called her and she couldn't believe her luck," says the six-time Grand Slam winner.

Boris Becker: Unexpected first call to his mother was "important for her and for me"

During the five-minute conversation, he told her that he was fine, even if he said he was only doing it to calm her down.

In reality, Becker was surrounded by criminals, some of whom were dangerous, and also experienced the harsh side of prison.

"It was an important call, she heard I was fine.

That was important for her and for me,” he summarized the first conversation between the two.

Becker will also visit his mother in Leimen during the Christmas period.

The tennis icon announced during the interview that he would take more time for his family in the future.
