Is attending the Paris 2024 events a luxury?
Looking at the price list of places for the Olympic Games in the capital, one can ask the question.
A first price bracket was announced last July, announcing places at 24 euros in all sports.
50% of the tickets were even planned at less than 50 euros for the “general public” and a price of less than 100 euros for the finals.
But depending on the sports and places, we are far from a Paris 2024 accessible to all.
Explanation.
The places at 24 euros are indeed displayed in almost all sports, except tennis, the only resistant with the least good tickets accessible from 30 euros.
It is not necessarily the number of places available at this price that bothers, but more the events that can be attended.
So at that price, it's impossible to go see an athletics final, a handball quarter-final or even a boxing semi-final.
90 euros for rowing repechages
Because the prices increase very quickly regardless of the events.
45 euros minimum from the quarter-finals for badminton, 50 euros for a canoe semi-final or a wrestling final, up to 80 euros for a 10m diving semi-final.
In the least affordable sports, we can cite basketball where no match apart from the pools is accessible for less than 70 euros or even athletics with the main finals which can be bought from 85 euros.

Finally, the best places, in category A, can be sold at a hefty price of up to 690 euros for the 100m final, at 90 euros for example for rowing repechages.
Overall, this fee schedule remains extremely criticized on social networks.
Hugo Hay, semi-finalist in the 5,000m at the Tokyo Olympics, openly reprimanded the Paris 2024 organizing committee, which he said "does not want a popular party".
In any case, not at this price.
On sale from February
There is a little time left to think about what you want to spend.
For the moment, registrations for the draw on the tickets.paris2024.org platform, prior to the sale of tickets, are open until January 31.
Then, if you are drawn, you will be contacted by email to obtain a sales slot between February 15 and March 15.
