June was a celebration of Erdinger women's football.

With FC Forstern 2, FC Langengeisling and FC Schwaig, three teams from the district celebrated the championship and promotion.

But how have they and the other clubs fared in the new season?

The tops and flops of the women's teams for the 2022/23 season:

FC Forstern: Happy about two comebacks

"I'm sorry, but nothing happened to us, everything was totally normal," says Forstern's sporting director Luky Lukschanderl.

Sure, at the moment the B-Juniors of the club outshine everything.

Max Kaifel's team is storming through the Bayernliga, has won every game so far and only conceded a single goal.

The FCF is well on its way to the Bundesliga.

But back to the women's teams, because there was still a lot there: for example, the start of the first in the Bavarian league, which as a former regional league team lost 1:2 at the former state league team SpVgg Germania Ebing.

false start?

"You could say that," admits Lukschanderl.

"We first had to get used to the league again." The team has long since established itself, which cannot be said of the second team, which is at the bottom as a promoted team in the state league with just one win.

But there was also something to celebrate for the FC-Reserve, which surprisingly won the Erdinger Meister-Cup.

And right at the top of FC Forstern: The comebacks of Johanna Stadler and Sophia Daumoser, both of whom had torn cruciate ligaments.

FC Langengeisling: three goals from the 85th minute

After marching through in the district league, the FCL also felt ready for the district league, especially since it had shone in the preparation by victories against higher-class teams.

But in the BOL, the team was quickly punished for negligence, conceded first defeats, but also delivered great games.

For coach Stefan Karamatic, the top spots in the preliminary round include “the outstanding 7-0 game in Hebertshausen”.

And the Geislingen team delivered real thrillers twice: for example when they won the district cup after a penalty shoot-out against SpVgg Markt Schwabener Au.

The team is now in the semifinals.

And there's the catch-up race at SV Saaldorf.

Up to the 85th minute, the promoted team was 1:4 behind before Julia John equalized with a three-pack.

However, the team felt the greatest joy when captain Steffi Esser played again for the first time – after a year-long injury break.

Particularly bitter for the FCL: the cruciate ligament rupture of newcomer Carmen Drescher.

The FCL reserve is proud of the twelve-goal week (5-0 in Pörnbach, 7-0 against Steinkirchen) and that they play with a defensive chain with an average age of 18.

The girls felt that SV Manching's refusal to postpone a game was a flop, although this had previously been postponed at the request of the women from Manching.

FC Schwaig: The 6:4 specialists

"The first highlight was the 6:4 win over SpVgg Attenkirchen in the first district league game," says coach Manfred Buchhauser.

"It's also great that we have the best offensive as a promoted team with 36 goals from eight games and three players among the top 9 scorers." No wonder when you shoot down opponents like SG Otterfing with 10:1 goals.

"The mood in the team is definitely great, it has never been as good as this season, when you can play freely without pressure after promotion.

And our result of 6:4 in three out of eight games is also great.”

But not everything went smoothly in Schwaig either.

After Corona, everyone was longing for vacation, explains Buchhauser, which is why the team did not play a game in August and was also unable to defend its title in the Teamwear Cup, "and the conditional preparation for the new season due to single-digit training participation for more or less two weeks before the first game started".

The result: the 4:6 defeat after a 4:2 lead.

In the last 20 minutes, the team collapsed completely.

"For me, our biggest flop of the season."

SG St. Wolfgang: fair and successful

A year ago, TSV St. Wolfgang formed a syndicate with the team from Lengdorf/Hörgersdorf.

"The cohesion is great," praises press spokeswoman Heidi Zeheter.

This is also reflected in the district league table.

The SG is first in the fairness ranking list and is in second place in terms of points, is undefeated and has conceded the fewest goals.

Also gratifying for Zeheter: "We have not had to reschedule either the first or the second game due to staff shortages."

A very special highlight according to Zeheter: "The use of Silvia Weißhart in the second team as a keeper, although she is still on parental leave." The Wolfganger flops of the season: the many long-term injuries (Johanna Kellner, Anna Breitinger, Lisa Empl) as well as the resignation of Lukas Loidl as coach of the second team.

SG Kirchasch: Corona after Ballermann trip

"The flop is definitely our bad luck with injuries," says Daniel Brenninger, coach of SG Kirchasch/Walpertskirchen.

With Franziska Widl, Tanja Terla and Luisa Mayrhofer, three players have torn their cruciate ligaments.

And then there was Marie Schwarz's syndesmosis ligament tear.

Brenninger was not happy with the pre-season either: "Two thirds of the team came back from the team vacation at Ballermann with a positive corona test, and we were therefore only able to get off to a flying start two weeks later."

But there are also positives, for example the 5:1 victory against SpVgg Wolfsbuch/Zell.

"That was our best performance of the season," says Brenninger.

“The commitment and cohesion were just right that day.

After we often played well and then lost, it wasn't just a good win, it was also an important one.” He also praises the team atmosphere and the cohesion in the team.

"The girls are just great.

Even if the season is mixed, many are in training.

I hope that this will pay off in the second half of the season because the girls deserve it with their efforts.”

FC Moosinning: Things are looking up

Just because there weren't enough climbers, the FCM stayed in the district league.

In the past few weeks, the team has proven that they definitely have the quality for it.

According to coach Franz Fiedler, the performances have improved significantly, "because the team is a team again," said the coach.

There was only one slip against Wolfsbuch.

Otherwise, the team has always proven “that it can play well with the top players.

We can be satisfied and will continue to attack.” Personally, he didn't want to single anyone out, “although it has to be said that Franzi Kneidinger played a brutal, super-strong round.

But actually everyone has developed well”.
