"When they called me, I wasn't sure I would be and it only gives me motivation to go to these. I could have done more in the world championship, we will draw conclusions and move forward. One of the conclusions is that the new exercise was not 100 percent and also that I arrived at the championship tired."

The outstanding athlete was chosen for the first time, the athlete Luna Chemtai Salpeter thanks to her extraordinary winning of the bronze medal at the World Marathon Championships and the bronze medal at the European Championships in the 10,000 meters run.

"It is a great honor to be chosen for the first time," said Hertzah.

"I'm really happy, it's something special for me, after a difficult year. I still have a lot to do and stay focused."

In the coach of the year category, Ayelet Zusman, the head coach of the artistic gymnastics branch, was selected.

The selection is due to leading the gymnastics team to win the silver medal at the world championships and the gold medal at the European all-around championships.

Her apprentice, Daria Atmanov, won the gold medal in a hard fought match at the 2022 European Championships held in Israel.

This is the second time in Sussman's career that she has won this prestigious title.

Shani Hershko, coach of the women's judo team, who is leading the team to achievements while making impressive progress in the Olympic cycle to Paris, was chosen as the coach of the year.

In 2022, Hershko's apprentices won a gold medal at the European Championship (Tamana Nelson Levy), a silver medal (Raz Hershko), 2 bronze medals (Gili Shir, Shira Rini).
