The Olympic Committee in Israel held the ceremony of the outstanding athletes and coaches for 2022 tonight (Sunday).
Olympic champion Artyom Dolgopiat won the Sportsman of the Year title for the third time in his career, thanks to his crowning as the European floor exercise champion for 2022. "Very exciting," said Dolgopiat.
"When they called me, I wasn't sure I would be and it only gives me motivation to go to these. I could have done more in the world championship, we will draw conclusions and move forward. One of the conclusions is that the new exercise was not 100 percent and also that I arrived at the championship tired."
The outstanding athlete was chosen for the first time, the athlete Luna Chemtai Salpeter thanks to her extraordinary winning of the bronze medal at the World Marathon Championships and the bronze medal at the European Championships in the 10,000 meters run.
"It is a great honor to be chosen for the first time," said Hertzah.
"I'm really happy, it's something special for me, after a difficult year. I still have a lot to do and stay focused."
