With the FT as a media partner and sponsors from the region, the SE Freising is organizing the Freising Indoor Masters for the 18th time around the Epiphany weekend.
Freising
– After a two-year Corona break, the indoor masters of the SE Freising 2023 will return.
Together with the Freisinger Tagblatt as a media partner, the SEF invites a top-class field of participants with well-known men's teams to the sports hall of the Luitpoldanlage on Saturday, January 7th.
The entry fee goes to the FT campaign "People in need".
SE Freising: Those responsible were considering whether they wanted to revive the tournament
For a long time it was not clear whether the Freising Indoor Masters could take place again after a two-year break due to corona.
"We thought about doing it again.
Corona has put a lot of things to sleep," reports SEF department head Frank Contu.
Ultimately, however, the board of directors came to the decision to hold the Hallenmasters for the 18th time.
Because: "It has to go back to normal at some point." The FT is on board as a media partner.
Sponsors are the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, Stadtwerke Freising and Freisinger Bank.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The organization of the tournament was more difficult for the team around Contu, Georg Appel, Robert Gintenreiter, Franz Xaver Schmid and Hans Kirchberger than in the past, explains Contu.
The reason: the enthusiasm for the booth magic seems to have decreased - probably because of Corona.
“The indoor tournaments are decreasing, also among the youth.
For example, we received significantly fewer invitations there.” There was “mixed feedback” when putting together the starting field for the Freisinger Tagblatt Hall Masters.
Some clubs have other priorities or are afraid of injuries, explains the head of department.
This time, among other things, Bayern league club VfB Hallbergmoos decided not to take part.

SE Freising: In addition to the adult and an AH tournament, five junior masters are on the program
It was similar when looking for partners and supporters.
"The sponsors were a bit more reserved." In the end, however, the four found partners were convinced, like the SEF, that the traditional tournament should be held again.
True to the motto: "It has to go back to normal at some point."
As a former "enthusiastic indoor player" and ex-youth coach, what was also particularly important to the Freising division manager were the youth tournaments.
Because indoor football is valuable for the youngsters, especially in the technical area.
Five junior tournaments will take place around Dreikönig: The U8s and U9s will take to the floor on Thursday, January 5th, and the U11s on Friday, January 6th.
The U10s and U14s will perform magic on Sunday, January 8th in the sports hall of the Luitpoldanlage.
