Traditionally, one of the most exciting days of the NBA season is the Christmas season, which brings with it two early games tonight (Sunday), and five in total, including some of the biggest stars in the world.

Here's everything you need to know about a long and exciting evening of basketball.

New York - Philadelphia (19:00)

* New York has played 54 times on Christmas Day - more than any other team in NBA history.

Balance sheet: 31:23.

* As a result, the Knicks have the most losses on Christmas (31).

The only team that has won more than them on Christmas is the Los Angeles Lakers (24).

* The Sixers are 14:18 on Christmas.

They have 18 wins on Christmas Day - third behind the Knicks and Lakers.

* This will be the 13th meeting between the teams on Christmas (balance: 5:7 for the Sixers), and the first since 2017. The second most common meeting on Christmas is New York vs. Boston.

* After holding the longest winning streak in the league, New York counts two consecutive losses.

Philly comes in reverse momentum with seven consecutive wins - second only to Brooklyn (8) in the East and in the entire league.

* James Harden has 26 3-pointers on Christmas Day - two less than the current record holder, LeBron James.

* Tyrese Maxey will be absent from one side, Obi Toffin from the other side.

Dallas - L.A.

Lakers (21:30)

* The Lakers played 48 times on Christmas (24:24 balance) - only New York played more (54).

This is the 24th year in a row that the Lakers have played on Christmas Day.

* The team from the City of Angels has the most wins on Christmas Day (24).

* Dallas played only five times on Christmas, and stands at 3:2.

It will be its first Christmas home game since 2011.

* If he wins, LeBron James will break his best friend Dwyane Wade's record for Christmas wins (10).

* If he plays, King James will make 17 appearances on Christmas Day - the all-time record, held until tonight by Kobe Bryant.

* Besides being the record for 3-pointers, LeBron is also the record for points on Christmas (422) and the record for field goals (150).

However, this will be only the fourth time the Celtics have been late at home on Christmas Day.

* DeAndre Jordan holds the record for blocks for one game - 8, in 2011.
