The chairman of the board and the club from Carmel have been working with the Israel Police since the violent events in the match against Maccabi Netanya: "The police have established an investigation team to investigate the events of the match"

Maccabi Haifa and the league administration issued a joint statement today (Tuesday) following the incidents of violence in yesterday's game between the Greens and Maccabi Netanya.

The announcement began: "Starting yesterday during the game and throughout the day, the director worked with Maccabi Haifa and the Israel Police in order to find out and arrive at the truth and to reach conclusions that will prevent the recurrence of incidents of this type in the future. As part of this, talks were held with the officers of the national headquarters of the Israel Police, led by the head of the Operations Division Superintendent Sigal Bar Zvi and this in order to investigate last night's events and draw conclusions."

The chairman of the league management Erez Kalfon:

"The events that took place in last night's game are difficult events that we are not ready to accept, neither on the football fields nor outside the field.

In my conversation with Superintendent Bar Zvi, I made it clear to her that we condemn any harm to police officers and security personnel who come to perform their duties.

From the second past, we are talking about a football game - an entertainment and cultural event that tens of thousands of fans come to watch, filling the fields - the vast majority of them are good and dedicated fans who come to have fun."

"This type of incident, which gets out of control, leads to terrible results and is a detriment to everyone - the soccer teams, the soccer fans, and the Israel Police. The head of the operations department told me that the police has established an investigation team to investigate the events of the game, in order to avoid the recurrence of this type of incident in the future."

CEO of Maccabi Haifa, Itzik Ovadia:

"Following our talks with the director, we welcome the decision of the head of the operations department at the police, Superintendent Sigal Bar Zvi, to form an investigation team for last night's serious incident.

We will of course cooperate with the investigation team, out of a sincere desire and intention to prevent the recurrence of such cases in the future, in which both football fans and police officers are harmed.

As a club that aims to make the game of football a positive experience for every fan of every age, from every sector, gender and color, we will fight violence together with the management of the football leagues and we will do everything to provoke."
