Handball: Nikola Karabatic "wishes to extend until June 2024" with PSG

“I told my club that I wanted to extend a year, until June 2024.” These are the words of Nikola Karabatic, the PSG Handball superstar to AFP.

In contract until the end of the current season, the 38-year-old player also clarified that he was still "in discussion" with the capital club.

A one-year extension would allow him to apply for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where Les Bleus du hand will defend their title won last year in Tokyo.

“Even if I extend for a year in the club, there is no guarantee that I will still play for the France team”, nevertheless recalled the triple Olympic gold medalist.

The French international must first try to glean a fifteenth title of champion of France.

Paris Saint-Germain is currently in second position in the Liqui Moly Starligue with the same record (thirteen wins for two losses) as the leader Montpellier.
