In the third attempt, Wanderers Germering reached the finish line.

With a 6:5 they won against the tail light from Ottobrunn.

Germering

– With a 6:5 (4:0, 2:0, 0:5) at bottom ERSC Ottobrunn, coach Florian Winhart's team was able to secure the promotion round.

Konstantin Kolb and captain Quirin Reichel each contributed twice with their goals, Michael Dorfner and Dennis Sturm each scored once.

However, it was a mighty nail-biter in the final third.

The Germeringers went into the last 20 minutes with a six-goal lead, which was comfortable even by ice hockey standards.

Especially in the first third, the Wanderers had put a lot of joy in playing on the ice.

"It paid off that we were finally able to bring in three full rows again," Wanderers spokesman Floriaan Hutterer saw as one reason for the good performance at this stage.

The processes were right and the team seemed safe.

In addition, the hosts did not give the impression that they should be able to endanger the Germeringer even in the beginning.

Even a few penalties, once even in a double deficit, did not change anything about the supposedly safe course.

Then came heavy rain, which caused a one-hour break in the Ottobrunn open-air stadium.

Only the hosts came out concentrated.

Spurred on by an early goal in the final third, the hitherto harmless Ottobrunn followed suit and after 48 minutes had come up to 4:6.

"That was a complete dropout," Hutterer was also stunned.

Ottobrunn risked everything, took out the goalie twice and got even closer.

However, Germering was able to avoid the possible 6:6.

"That ends well, goal achieved," Hutterer breathed a sigh of relief.
