Al-Karama lost to Iran's Gorgan 83-78 points in the Superleague West Asian Basketball Championship, in the match that brought them together today at Azadi Hall in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The first quarter ended in a tie 22-22 points, and the second and third quarters came in favor of Gorgan by 22-17 and 14-13, and the fourth quarter was in favor of Al-Karama 26-25, so the match ended with Gorgan winning 83-78.
Last Thursday, Al-Ahly Al-Ahly Al-Ittihad lost to the Jordanian Orthodox, with a score of 59-40, in the match that brought them together on the grounds of Al-Hamdaniya Hall in Aleppo, within the first round of the same tournament.
The tournament opened with the Iraqi Oil Club match against Al-Karamah, and ended with the victory of the first with a difference of 23 points 89-66, which was held in the Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
The teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups, the first included Al-Ittihad clubs, Al-Ahly Aleppo, the Jordanian Orthodox, the Iranian Zob Ahan Isfahan, and the Lebanese Beirut, while the second included the Lebanese Al-Riyadi clubs, Al-Karamah, the Iraqi oil, and the Iranian Gorgan.
The teams play in a league manner in each group separately, so the first of each of them qualifies directly for the semi-finals, while the second of each group plays with the third in the other group, so that four teams qualify for the semi-finals.
