The teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups, the first included Al-Ittihad clubs, Al-Ahly Aleppo, the Jordanian Orthodox, the Iranian Zob Ahan Isfahan, and the Lebanese Beirut, while the second included the Lebanese Al-Riyadi clubs, Al-Karamah, the Iraqi oil, and the Iranian Gorgan.

The teams play in a league manner in each group separately, so the first of each of them qualifies directly for the semi-finals, while the second of each group plays with the third in the other group, so that four teams qualify for the semi-finals.
