EHC Klostersee: Coach Dominik Quinlan praises the team for a "super job" in a three-way premiere against Landsberg Riverkings in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

Striker Fabian Zick is not only missing tonight in Füssen.

- How it is after winning games in which not everything, but most of it went right and success was achieved thanks to a solid team performance: After the 7: 3 of EHC Klostersee on Boxing Day against the Landsberg Riverkings, the first three of the Reds -Whites in the current round of points in the Oberliga Süd, many in Dominik Quinlan's team pushed themselves as "player of the game".

For example goalkeeper Philipp Hähl, who was a safe support in tricky situations, or the current captain Philipp Quinlan - representative of the team.

Double goalscorer Vili Vesalainen was also a candidate on his 25th birthday.

Finally, Lynnden Pastachak, who personally went through a very varied game, was chosen.

"I don't know anyone who throws himself into opponent's shots with such dedication as Pasta," head coach Quinlan had repeated several times since the Canadian joined the EHC in September 2021.

It was no different against the guest from Lechstadt, in which Pastachak initially missed a penalty in the second third and a little later scored the liberating 4:1 after an irresistible solo.

After a (unpunished) check against his head, the fast winger spent the last quarter of an hour standing on the rink.

Team doctor Engelbert Remiger ordered this after the possibility of a concussion could not be ruled out.

"I feel good," Pastachak gave the all-clear an hour later in the company of the celebrating team - with his family at his side.

Absolutely great!

Kevin Pastachak, father of EHC forward Lynnden Pastachak on the first treble of the season.

Pastachak's father, mother and brother are visiting until mid-January and are crossing their fingers in the stands.

"Absolutely great", said Papa Kevin, who also played for Deggendorfer SC in the Oberliga from 1988 to 1995, after his first "live match" in the Wildbräu Arena.

In the last year and a half, however, he has seen all of Lynnden's EHC games at home in Canada on Sprade TV.

"A great job by all my boys," the Klostersee head coach was happy about the first three.

"Finally we've rewarded ourselves for the huge effort, after we've often been very close." That was important for morale and self-confidence.

The fact that Pastachak got out of the situation in the last third is due to the necessary luck, said Quinlan, who after captain Raphael Kaefer has to lament the next experienced long-term absence.

Klostersee will have to do without injured striker Fabian Zick tonight at 7:30 p.m. against EV Füssen

The season is probably over for striker Fabian Zick after he received an (unpunished) knee check on his thigh during a guest appearance in Lindau.

The result was a severe bruise and an ever-swelling thigh.

Because of a so-called compartment syndrome, in which the muscles are no longer sufficiently supplied with oxygen, Zick was operated on immediately.

“Of course, that further limits our options.

It is all the more important that the guys at the back do a good job on the ice in the next few games, as they did today,” said Quinlan, looking ahead shortly after the home win.

Already today, Wednesday, the next hurdle is waiting for the EHC away at EV Füssen (game starts at 7.30 p.m.).

The Allgäu completed their previous task in Passau with a 9:4 success.
