The BC Attaching only plays one indoor tournament this winter: the Freisinger Tagblatt Indoor Masters.

There, on and off the floor, the focus is on having fun.

Freising – They know very well how it works: A few years ago, the BC Attaching footballers surprisingly won the indoor tournament of SE Freising in the sports hall of the Luitpoldanlage.

And that's why there wasn't much to think about when the invitation from the Lerchenfeld club and the local newspaper for the Freisinger Tagblatt indoor masters came a few weeks ago.

"We soon realized that we wanted to be part of it," says department head Marcus Brunnhuber.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Nevertheless, the Attachingen functionary admits, the booth magic no longer has the status it had ten to fifteen years ago.

"It's also about having fun," reports the person in charge.

Where there used to be a tight training program for the hall, with some teams playing all over the country through the halls and several tournaments, many clubs are now only driving on the back burner - including the BC Attaching.

Only once a week, on Thursdays, do the players from the first and second teams meet for an hour and a half for training.

Only if you like it and only “if something works”, as Brunnhuber points out.

That's why the Attachingen - like many other teams - are only playing one tournament this year, namely the one in the cathedral city.

"But we're looking forward to it all the more,"

In the preliminary group, there are almost only derbies waiting for the BCA when it comes to SV Vötting, Vatanspor Freising and the hosts from SE Freising.

TSV Allershausen is also waiting.

All in all, of course, they want to sell well, says Marcus Brunnhuber, explaining the sporting goals of the BCA.

"But even a place in the back will certainly not be a problem," he adds.

The Attachinger have identified the SEF as the national league as favorites, but district league competitor Fatih Ingolstadt also has a lot of confidence in the BCA.

Brunnhuber's conclusion: "Certainly having fun in the hall, in the stands and in the night cafe is the most important thing."
