The Erding Gladiators successfully completed the first task of the away triple between the years.

Erding – On Monday evening there was a 6: 4 victory at ESC Geretsried (we reported).

Tonight we're off to EHC Königsbrunn (kick-off 8 p.m.) and on Friday to Peißenberg.

"We got off to a very good start in Geretsried, after that it was rather mixed," says Erding's team manager Felix Schütz.

Goalkeeper Thomas Hingel ("He kept us in the game") and Daniel Krzizok ("He scored two very important goals in the second period") received special praise.

His goal to make it 6-2 was also the Gladiators' 100th goal of the season.

"If we had made it 7-2 then it would have been over," said Schütz.

But his team was too impatient in the last third and didn't play so aggressively forward.

The Geretsrieders promptly closed the gap to 4:6.

"But in the end it was a sovereign victory and three important points."

Since the suspended Rudi Lorenz was absent, Schütz allowed five defenders to play.

After Dominik Wagner dropped out early due to injury, Sebastian Busch was ordered from the attack to the defence.

"I didn't want to play two thirds with only four defenders, so I withdrew the bushi and he did it very well," emphasizes Erding's team boss.

In addition to the injured Wagner, the Gladiators will also have to do without the sick Basti Cramer tonight, but Lorenz is back after serving a suspension.

Thanks to the success in Geretsried, the Gladiators are now ten points ahead of the Riverrats, who are in ninth place.

But that doesn't really interest Schütz.

"More distance to the rear is good, but I prefer to look ahead." And ahead of Erdinger is today's opponent Königsbrunn.

"They're not third for nothing," says the Erdinger team manager, who doesn't like to think back to the first leg, when the Gladiators were really shown off in their own hall at 1:7.

"Everyone has seen the progress we've made since then," emphasizes Schütz.

“The team from back then can no longer be compared to today, so it will be a completely different game.

I'm sure of that.” The EHC has a six-point lead over Erding, with two more games played, which means that the Gladiators could really close in on the EHC.

In any case, the team boss is very confident in today's Königsbrunn game.

He is certain: "We don't need to hide from any team."
