Well over 1000 spectators watched the Oberliga derby between EC Peiting and the Tölzer Löwen.

Against such a backdrop of all things, hardly anything went together at the ECP.

Peiting - The brief failure of the video screen in the 48th minute - it was a symbol of EC Peiting's appearance in the Oberliga derby on Wednesday evening against the "Tölzer Löwen".

At the host ECP, after four wins in a row, the juice was gone.

Anton Saal's team lost 1:6 in front of a good 1100 spectators.

The coach was visibly served.

Bad Tölz "was faster, more poisonous".

The victory of the "Lions" was "absolutely deserved", said Saal.

His team "didn't find their way into the game for a second".

The fact that in the end top scorer Felix Brassard and no one else saw it as his duty to give a physical sign – he delivered a tussle with Bad Tölz' Dillon Eichstadt in the 56th minute – was characteristic of Saal.

Because such actions “are definitely not his job.

That shows me that we were definitely not ready.” According to Saal, there were “too many players on the Peitinger side that evening who were physically there but not mentally”.

The bankruptcy has to be ticked off.

The coach now wants to observe how the reaction to the game turns out.

The "Lions", who had to do without their top scorer Ludwig Nirschl (concussion), moved up five points on the sixth-placed ECP in the table.

Coach Ryan Foster was happy about "a great victory".

EC Peiting conceded five goals in the middle third

As for the beginning, a 0-1 in itself is nothing special for EC Peiting this season.

This happened to the team several times, twice against the "Tölzer Löwen".

On Wednesday, the gap to the first third break was okay.

The guests had the better offensive actions to show.

With the only goal in the first half of the game, “Löwen” player Dillon Eichstadt was given too much time, his shot went into the upper right corner to make it 1-0 (9th).

ECP goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder's view was obstructed.

Point winner at least in the fight: Peiting's Felix Brassard (2nd from left) fought with Dillon Eichstadt in the final third and wanted to set an example.

Ironically, being outnumbered (12th) created two good Peitingen chances: First Quirin Spies failed, shortly afterwards Brassard rushed up and away, but the visitors' combined efforts prevented the goal from scoring.

In the same power play, Hechenrieder showed a huge save against Anton Engel.

Towards the end of the third, Peiting came up stronger, various shots, Louis Postel fired the most dangerous one, but didn't go to the goal.

EC Peiting clearly loses after four wins in a row

From Peitinger's point of view, the middle third was completely wrong, in the end the home team was five goals behind.

"We wanted to try something, it didn't work at all," says Saal.

On the defensive, where the ECP was still strong last time in Höchstadt, there were mistakes after mistakes.

At the start, Nick Huard was allowed to drive freely towards Hechenrieder – he sank the puck to make it 2-0 (21st).

Immediately afterwards a ray of hope: Peiting took advantage of Bad Tölz's weakness in numbers;

Marco Habermann reduced the power play to 1: 2 (22nd).

When the ECP had just survived being outnumbered, he conceded the 1:3 (25th) through Engel.

The "Lions" kept their hands on the trigger and repeatedly caused great difficulties for the people of Peiting.

Again Engel ensured the 4:1 (31st) of the guests.

A brace from Tyler McPhee-Ward (36', 39') gave Bad Tölz a 6-1 lead.

In the final third Konrad Fiedler guarded the Peitinger goal.

In the end it wasn't that exciting anymore.

The Bad Tölzers didn't let the home side develop much, but delivered one or the other promising attack themselves.

On the Peitinger side, Andreas Feuerecker failed with a shot (54'), immediately afterwards the puck deflected by David Miller landed on the post (55').

Shortly thereafter there was the already mentioned scuffle between Brassard and Eichstadt, in which the Peitinger got the upper hand.

In the subsequent majority for the ECP, David Diebolder just missed a second goal.
