OL are relaunching.
A little.
Far from their usual standards in Ligue 1 before the long break due to the World Cup in Qatar, Olympique Lyonnais, now led by Laurent Blanc, is moving forward thanks to a victory full of authority in Brest, Wednesday evening, in same time as PSG faced Strasbourg.
The match was almost over even before half-time, when OL were already leading 3-1 thanks to goals from Caqueret, Cherki and a penalty from Lacazette, to which only another penalty from Pereira-Lage had answered.
At the start of the second period, it was the Brazilian from Ukraine Tetê who continued the Lyon stroll, before Mounié reduced the score.
It's obviously a relief for Laurent Blanc, who now has a positive record (3 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) at the head of OL and finally seems to have found a balance in his team.
Thanks to these three points, OL remain in eighth place in the Ligue 1 standings but are getting closer to European places.
Rennes (3rd), Marseille or Monaco (4th and 5th) are now only 7 and 6 points respectively, pending the continuation of this 16th day.
Brest, for its part, is suffering.
The Bretons are currently 17th in Ligue 1 and relegated.
