Olympic marathon runners Luna Chamtai Salpeter and Maru Tefri, achieved the criterion for their participation in the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
The happy news came after the publication of the final criteria in athletics with the times that the athletes are required to achieve, when in the marathon, all the results achieved as early as November 1 of this year are considered.
As you remember, Chemtai Salpeter participated in the New York Marathon on November 6 and won the silver medal with a result of 2:23:30 hours, while the Olympic Women's Marathon Cut A is 2:26:50 hours, so her result in the United States is enough to reach for another Olympics in his career.
For the men, the criterion results is 2:08:10 hours, when European vice-champion Tefri participated in the Fukuoka Marathon at the beginning of the month, where he won the gold medal with a new Israeli record of 2:06:43 hours, which earns him a place in Paris.

It should be remembered that in the marathon it is possible to participate up to three male and three female athletes per country, so if there are more than three Israelis who will do so as with the men for Tokyo, the athletics association will have to determine the manner of deciding between them.
Currently, the Israeli delegation to the upcoming Olympics consists of seven athletes, when in addition to the marathon runners, the artistic gymnastics team also secured its place through the silver medal in the all-around competition at this year's World Championships in Sofia.
