Lionel Messi will have left his mark in Qatar, on the World Cup, on the pitch but also in… his room.

In Doha, the Albiceleste was housed at Qatar University, located north of the city.

For the competition, the campus had been redecorated to accommodate the team.

Flags of the country, crests of the Argentine Federation, photos of the players… Everything had been done to make Lionel Scaloni's men feel at home, as shown in a video published on December 27 by The Peninsula, an English-language daily published in Doha.

Here's a quick tour of La Albiceleste's base camp at Qatar University!

And if all the members of the team are in the spotlight, it is obviously Lionel Messi who is the most celebrated.

The room in which he spent a month will be transformed into a mini-museum, and it will no longer be possible to stay there.

According to Hitmi al Hitmi, director of communications and public relations at the University, the chamber “will remain intact and Lionel Messi's business will be a legacy, a testament to his success during this World Cup.

A new honor for the Parisian, who had already received a bisht from Qatar after the victory of the Argentines in the final.

Currently with his family in Argentina after celebrations with the national team, Lionel Messi will return to France on January 2 or 3, according to his coach Christophe Galtier.

He could resume competition on January 11 against Angers, or on January 15 in Rennes.

In the meantime, Paris Saint-Germain face Strasbourg this Wednesday, December 28 for the 16th day of Ligue 1 with Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, already available.
