Bastian Schweinsteiger is enjoying his vacation.

The ex-Bayern star shows up on the ski slopes - many fans immediately thought of Manuel Neuer.

Munich – For four weeks, former FC Bayern star Bastian Schweinsteiger accompanied the World Cup in Qatar as a television expert.

Together with presenter Esther Sedlaczek, he formed the ARD duo, which was mostly well received by viewers.

Now "Schweini" is recovering on vacation, the 38-year-old was back on the ski slopes shortly after the Christmas holidays, as reported by tz.de.

Name: Bastian Schweinsteiger

Born: August 1, 1984 in Kolbermoor

Professional stations: FC Bayern, Manchester United, Chicago Fire

Competitive games for FC Bayern: 500 (68 goals, 99 assists)

Internationals for Germany: 121 (24 goals)

Bastian Schweinsteiger appears on TV and a little later on the ski slopes

Schweinsteiger let his fans take part in his free time again.

So he showed on Tuesday evening how he was rooting for the game of his ex-club Manchester United.

The Bavarian played a total of 35 competitive games for the English record champions and moved to the USA after less than two years.

The day after, the native of Kolbermoor showed himself again as an active athlete instead of as a television viewer - on the ski slopes.

In full gear, Schweinsteiger grinned into the lens on Wednesday afternoon.

He garnished his contribution with an excerpt from the lyrics of the Austropop song "Schifoan" (skiing in High German, editor's note) by Wolfgang Ambros.

"Schifoan is the leiwandste", he quoted the chorus of the evergreen from the seventies.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Ex-FCB star quotes "Schifoan" - David Alaba knows the text immediately

His longtime ex-teammate David Alaba didn't have to be asked twice on this occasion and completed the line in the comments.

And of course in Austrian.

".. what you can only imagine," wrote Real Madrid's defense chief under Schweinsteiger's photo.

So Alaba seems to be text-safe.

However, most fans did not respond to the allusion to the 2014 world champion, the ski trip triggered a kind of trauma in FC Bayern supporters.

Probably due to the bitter absence of Manuel Neuer, who broke his lower leg in an accident while ski touring at the beginning of December.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Fans worried about Manuel Neuer's injury - "Please be careful"

"Give me an hour on Manuel!" Jokes a user in the comments.

Another says: "Please be careful, not like Manuel Neuer".

Another warns: "Be careful, Mr. Schweinsteiger.

Herr Neuer says hello”, an English-speaking fan simply says: “Just don't Neuer it”.

The fans were also recently worried about Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt, who was on vacation in the ski area.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is an experienced skier - he skied with Felix Neureuther as a child

But what very few fans know: Schweinsteiger is an excellent skier and could have had a great career as a winter sports enthusiast.

When he was a child, Bastian competed for the Bavarian ski club WSV Oberaudorf together with his brother Tobias, who was also a professional soccer player and now coaches VfL Osnabrück.

The former national player even raced against the later ski racing star Felix Neureuther.

Schweinsteiger often emphasized that he had won several times.

At the age of 13, however, he devoted himself intensively to football.

To this day, the two Upper Bavarian sports icons have maintained a close friendship.
