Jude Bellingham joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 as a 17-year-old.
FC Bayern almost canceled the transfer, as the former CEO of Bellingham's ex-club remembers.
Munich – After Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham is probably the next upcoming superstar who will leave BVB in the near future.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been linked with many of Europe's top clubs, so Dortmund could probably look forward to a hefty fee if they ditch him before the end of his contract.
As the CEO of Bellingham's ex-club Birmingham City has now revealed, FC Bayern tried to use all means to intervene in BVB's transfer.

Jude Bellingham: FC Bayern tried it several times - invitation to the 2019 cup final
Jude Bellingham made his debut at Birmingham City at the age of 16 in the second English division and is still the youngest goalscorer in the history of the traditional club.
Even before his first appearances as a professional, today's England international was in demand all over England and in Germany.
According to information from
Sport Bild
, FC Bayern already signaled interest in 2018, when Bellingham was 14 years old.
However, the demands of the English were too high, which is why the record champions are said to have initially refrained from a transfer.
A year later, FCB made another attempt and invited Bellingham and his mother to the DFB Cup final between FC Bayern and RB Leipzig in May 2019 in Berlin, as photos show.
However, the player side decided to remain in Birmingham, where Bellingham developed into a top performer in his first professional season.

Jude Bellingham: Ex-Birmingham CEO remembers the background to the transfer
In the summer of 2020, the central midfielder finally moved to Dortmund at the age of 17.
But Bayern almost prevented the change.
At least that's what Xuandong Ren, the CEO of Birmingham City at the time, says.
In an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper
Mundo Deportivo
, the Chinese revealed the background to the transfer poker for the talent.
Like today, big clubs were interested in Bellingham, and according to Xuandong Ren, Manchester United offered the most money.
But Dortmund made the race shortly before the end of the season, even if it was exciting up to the last second.

Jude Bellingham: Shortly before signing the contract, FC Bayern intervened
Bayern tried right up to the last moment to get the transfer going, Xuandong Ren recalls.
"The day he was about to sign for Dortmund, I got a call from his father asking me to postpone signing the contract.
Bayern tried to increase the offer at the last minute.
They offered him a big bonus payment," said the former manager of the championship club.
However, Bellingham "never put money first" and insisted that the decision to make the move is tied to the best possible sporting perspective.
Like so many talents before him, he was offered this in Dortmund.
Since then he has developed into an absolute top performer and is in greater demand today than ever before.
