The next federal assembly of the French Football Federation (FFF) will take place on January 7 in Paris, a meeting during which the extension of Didier Deschamps as coach of the France team could be validated.
According to the press release published Friday by the FFF, this federal assembly will be held in a hotel in the 17th arrondissement of Paris in the presence, in particular, “of the members of the executive committee of the FFF, of the High Authority of Football, of the executive office of the Ligue amateur football, presidents of Leagues, Districts, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs”.
If the agenda does not specifically mention the future of Deschamps at the head of the Blues, evoking rather "the activity and financial report of the FFF season 2021-2022 and the modifications of the federal texts", it is during of the executive committee planned during this federal assembly that the president of the FFF Noël Le Graët should announce Deschamps' decision on his future and have it validated.
Thursday, the two men met at Guingamp according to several media to discuss the future of Deschamps, who could extend his contract until Euro-2024.
Contacted by AFP, Le Graët then did not confirm, adding that he would "not comment".
Winner of the 2018 World Cup in Russia and finalist of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Deschamps has retained all his credit with Le Graët, and his passion for this position seems intact.
On the bench of the Blues for ten years, the Basque, if extended, would then turn to the next Euro in Germany, the only title missing from his list of coaches.
