During the year 2022, Syrian sports witnessed several achievements in various foreign championships, especially in the Mediterranean tournament, and our team players won various medals in individual games, athletics, equestrian games, and others, the most prominent of which are as follows:

football:

– The Tishreen team wins the Syrian Premier League championship for the third time in a row and the fifth in its history.

Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahly Aleppo, won the Republic Cup title for the tenth time in its history, after defeating Al-Wathba by penalty kicks 4-3, after the end of the original and extra time with a goalless draw.

– Jableh team wins the title of the Tishreen football tournament in its twenty-second edition, after defeating Tishreen in the final, with a goal to none.

Al-Wehda wins the Women’s Republic Cup Championship by defeating Homs Governorate with two goals to one in the final match.

– The Syrian national team achieved third place in the West Asian Federation Championship for the U-23 category in Saudi Arabia, and our team’s goalkeeper, Wassim Ayoub, was chosen as the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

Fayrouzah team wins the Women's League title.

Al-Hilal team won the Under-16 Women’s League championship, after its victory in the final match against Amuda team, with seven goals to one.

The Syrian women’s team wins second place in the West Asian Championship in Lebanon.

The Syrian youth team qualifies for the 2023 Asian Finals in Uzbekistan.

Al-Majd team wins the 10th Journalists’ Cup title by defeating Al-Karamah with a goal without a response.

– Al-Nayrab team won the Futsal League title for first-division clubs, for the fifth time in its history, after defeating Shabiba Rif Dimashq by four goals to one.

Basketball:

The Syrian women’s national team runner-up in the Asian Cup for the second level.

The Syrian Olympic team came third in the Sada International Tournament in Armenia.

The Syrian national team for the under-18 youth category achieves second place in the West Asian Championship and qualifies for the Asian Championship.

Al-Thawra team won the Women’s League title by defeating Tishreen, 67-72 points.

Al-Thawra team won the Women’s Republic Cup title by defeating Al-Wehda, 57-52 points.

Al-Ittihad team, Al-Ahly Aleppo, won the men’s league title by defeating Al-Karama, 77-68 points, in the final round.

Al-Jaish team won the U-19 Youth Basketball League title by defeating Al-Wathba by 60-57 points in the final round of the championship.

Al-Wehda team won the Republic Cup title for the men’s category, after its victory in the final match against Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahly Aleppo, with a score of 52-58.

Syria tops the list of public attendance in the World Cup qualifiers.

Martial arts:

Two golds and two silvers in the Sixth Arab Championship for Throwing Power in Bahrain.

Two golds, two silvers and a bronze in the eleventh Arab Championship for Kyoshinkai in Lebanon.
